Do I seem to recall one of the creators of Wolfenstein once went to an interview and asked something to the effect of "What happened to America? Since when killing Nazis became 'problematic'?". Several years ago, maybe over a decade. The US was given a warning and they didn't listen.

In Cyberpunk 2077 the major antagonists are the corporations, although the game is not as punk as the name would suggest as you spend spend about the same amount of time working for them, or even for the police or government.

There is a conversion of Wolfenstein 3D for the ZDOOM. Best way to play the game if you want mouselook and other nice things.
Took me a little while to figure out where to put the .ipk3 file (easiest is ~/.config/gzdoom) but otherwise easy enough to get going using the flatpak version of GZDoom. Installing the regular gamefiles + spear of destiny (from my GOG version) was also pretty easy, but I wonder where one can get Return to Danger and Ultimate Challenge 🤔
Either way, good shout, plays excellently, although seems like hitting enemies is harder in this version than the original, at least when they're far away.

An unmentioned kinda out-of-the-box thing is Garry's mod (gmod). Pretty sure there are downloadable models and/or skins for nazis, and you have a ton of tools for fucking them up in the most spectacular ways possible. There are mods for gibbing, better blood and bulletholes and stuff like that. Make Rube Goldberg machines ending in splattered nazis, strap them to rockets, build mediaeval torture devices etc. The fucking up nazi possibilities are endless!
A couple years ago when all the Floyd and anti-police protests were happening, I had an incredible urge to do something violent.
So I booted up some GMod, spawned a bunch of cop NPCs and started mowing them down with impunity. It honestly felt really fucking good too.

I literally see front page posts on Reddit now daily advocating for murdering cosplay Nazis, with plenty of comments cheering on saying it is your duty as an American. At the same time Trump just announced that America will take over the Gaza strip so we can send our troops to clean up unexploded bombs, fight on behalf of Israel, & rebuild it with your taxpayer money as a gift to Trump's handler, Netanyahu.
Cosplay Nazis are misguided, but violently attack & advocating for murdering people for exercising their free speech is both gross & no different than what people claim that Nazis represent. A majority of these cosplay Nazis are online edgelords, who have never even been violent. Israel clearly owns America's politicians, so it understandable that people would fall into a conspiracy trap to believe that we were lied to about world history.
It is also convenient timing, because soon the protestors that called the massacre & leveling of Gaza a genocide, and those that protest what is going to happen in Gaza, are going to be called Nazis as well.
Murdering, attacking people, & suckerpunching them isn't going to win people over to your side of history. It will only make them more extreme & increase their numbers. It is just as disgusting & a crime as well, and President Musk has already stated that he intends to make prisoners work the assembly lines for him as part of capital punishment.
People who self-identify as Nazis, as well as those knowingly in neo-Nazi organizations, are therefore perfectly valid targets of assassination. Historically, Nazi killers are seen as national heroes, so don't give me that 'winning people over to your side of history' junk.
When it is strategically effective to shoot a Nazi, and it often is, then I advocate you do so without hesitation. Where it is not strategically effective, I advocate the myriad of nonviolent techniques put in use by antifascists. These are preferred, not because of some silly claims that Nazis should not be harmed, but because they're safer and more sustainable than individual actions.
Listen closely to what a Nazi wants, yes even the 'cosplay Nazis', and think about whether their life is more important than stopping their goal of mass extermination.
Sounds like sympathy for Nazis. They want violence, we the people have the responsibility to send them back to hide in the shadows.
We are here because we stayed quiet for too long.
Saboteur deserves much more love.
Saboteur is one of those games I'm afraid to replay because I have such vivid memories of it being really fun and I don't want to lose that.
I already somewhat ruined Morrowind with modern hardware doing distant rendering. Back in the day Morrowind had perpetual fog and you couldn't see far, so all the places felt so far apart. It felt like a journey going from Vivec city to Ebonhart. But modern hardware has no problem with distant rendering and now I can see that I could spit from Vivec City to Ebonhart. It's no longer a journey, it's just an annoyance because "it's right there". The magic of traversal is lessened because things no longer feel like they're far away.
And that's what I'm afraid of, that some illusion of Saboteur gets shattered and with it the game will also feel lesser than it was.

It's a fantastic mod that adds the rest of mainland Vvardenfell for you to explore, new quests and factions, new enemies and monsters. It's such an amazing mod I can't recommend it enough.
Plus there are other teams that are working on adding Skyrim and Cyrodiil to the game as well, along with everything they should bring (items etc.).
I just played it for the first time 4 months ago and it still holds up incredibly well. The art direction definitely helps cut down on the expanded rendering capabilities of modern PCs. While you'll still have some reduced resolutions of distant landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, you'll barely notice it as the distance is often covered by buildings, trees, hills, Nazi fortifications, and so on.
In a somewhat similar vein, the remakes of both Halo: Combat Evolved and Bioshock modernized the lighting and in so doing completely destroyed the atmosphere.
That was such a fun game. Little asexual me didn't care about the nudity, but the black and white aspect before liberating an area into color was such a cool Gimmick.

Been watching Band of Brothers (then of course the sequel, The Pacific) and gameplay from The Darkness for this very “no particular reason”. The Darkness feels more cathartic.

The Sabateur is a bit rough around the edges as it was the last game pandemic put out before shutting down and they basically ran out of time andmoney. But I still enjoyed it at the time. Just know that you’re basically jumping into an old, clunky assassin’s creed/GTA-like

I was actually surprised to realise that I've played everything on the list except for the Indiana Jones (which I've downloaded but I haven't got around to playing yet) and the captain America games.

I've been playing a bunch of Indiana Jones lately and keep finding myself going out of my way to kill every Nazi and fascist I come across even going out of my way to backtrack and get a few.
Yep, and doing it in the coolest, funniest ways possible. And doing shit with the bodies like throwing them off high places, shoving them into fireplaces, and gleefully smashing their dead faces.

I feel like that's one texture replacement away from reality. But knowing that side they would relentlessly attack it and make it seem like some kind of "maga kill simulator" or w/e.
