My wife does this for reasons I don't understand. Maybe I'm some kind of famous streamer or something. But I still have to choose good cute games like Mario or Kirby.
- you gotta start screaming like a twitch streamer starting a YouTube video, "HELLO TODAY GUYS WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO BEAT DARK SOULS WITHOUT ATTACKING!! REMEMBER TO SUBSCRIBE AND HIT THAT BELL" then just die to the same boss for 8 hours straight
  
  Don't forget to promote raid shadow legends, audible, a meal plan program, and some form of powdered caffeine you mix with water thats vaguely grape flavored

  Sometimes communicating your fetishes can be tricky. I mean, how do you find the right words to say "Honey, I'd like to open our relationship. But just for me. You'll still remain faithful. But I will be seeking 149 other full time women. That way, I can see 5 of you a day, once a month. And none of you will orgasm, unless you're with me. - Quit the game before I said goodbye to the deer (who is the first person if I remember correctly) because that game is too damn sad. Like it's great, well written and I love the art style, but fuck man I'm playing games to have fun and that was not doing it for me. One of those games I'll recommend but probably never finish.
  
  When I played with my kid I inadvertently read Atul's lines like Robin Williams as he seemed like a jovial kind of person. But hoo boy that hits hard afterwards. And what is sadder is it's based off of what happened with one of the dev's family members.

I used to have a partner like this. She would comment on my face as I'm being serious in a part of a game haha.
She was sweet however some incident caused us to realise it was no longer working on a romantic level. It's a very sweet feeling though.
- One of my exes made decent money, would bring me flowers to work occasionally, really sweet girl. She would go way out of her way to try to find common things between us like down to the point of eating the same condiments on food even if she didn't like them.
  As she approached her twenties, She started getting riskier and riskier in her extracurricular behaviors. Hanging out with people that were getting her blackout drunk, possibly having their way with her (per her own admission) still want to do hang out with them.
  I poked around some years later to see where she landed, at some point she was dating an IT guy and decided to throw an IT party for him. The whole thing just burbled with sweet, and cringe. Which was pretty on target.
  Glad I moved on and I'm glad it looks like she landed somewhere comfortable for her.

My gf does this too. She will buy me a game just to watch me play it. Although sometimes it's to keep me distracted while she plays The Sims.

I absolutely love watching people play Morrowind and sometimes the og XCOM. Only those games though not sure why

  Rain world (with the downpour dlc) (incredible game)

  Binding of Isaac (pretty sure some dlc is required)
  Snipperclips plus
  Duck game
  Pikuniku
  A hat in time (I haven't actually played myself but my friends have)
  There's also:
  Battleblock theater
  Towerfall
  Samurai gunn
  Distance
  Human fall flat
  Rocket league
  Ultimate chicken horse
  Enter the gungeon
  Almost any fighting game
  You can also still play a lot of old couch co-op games through an emulator or get couch co-op mods for newer games (another commenter mentioned Minecraft). There's a lot of options.

  The trine games! The first two are a little dated (while still being very fun) and the third one is pretty bad, but 4 or 5 are accessible and great!

- it takes two was pretty good, also I forgot if portal 2 multiplayer has split screen or not but that would be fun too
  edit: you can also mod Minecraft java edition to have split screen and controller support, haven't personally tried it, but I saw a YouTuber do it lol (iirc bedrock edition has it built in but bedrock requires windows and is worse imo)
  edit 2: I forgot ibb and obb. Its good, but was too difficult to play with my (at the time) 10yr sibling. Not sure how it compares with adults.
  
  Portal 2 has split screen, at least the PC version
  
  Bedrock could also be played on a console split screen.
  I'm bummed that Mario and Luigi brothership isn't co-op, it's in the name, TWO people!
  There are some other cute switch games that are co-op. Yoshi's crafted world was fun.

  It indeed has about 10500 couch co-op games listed of which around 2500 work on PC.
  Saying there are none is just plain ignorance.
- Ever heard of an obscure little game called Baldurs Gate 3?
- Stardew fucking Valley. Spent hundreds of hours with my wife on that game, amazing time!
- I dont play a lot of modern games so im basically a normie in terms of gaming but mario kart and smash bros with friends is really fun
- Child of Light
  Cult of the Lamb
- The first Helldivers, Plate Up!
- BG3 has couch co-op, which is pretty neat
