To be fair, OP didn't say he wanted to work more.
How many novel experiences could I have had during that time? How many thought-provoking books could I have read? How many interesting people could I have met?
YouTube stole his time that he wanted to use for more fulfilling activities for him.
If YouTube is fulfilling for you, that's ok. However, OP wanted to do other fun things.
I also don't like the grip YouTube has on me. I found it really hard to break because sometimes there are legitimate reasons to be watching videos on YouTube, such as for home repairs. Still, most of my time there is wasted.
I've tried installing Leechblock and that has helped for a lot of other sites.
Although, since YouTube is special (tutorials), Leechblock gets too much in the way and I end up disabling it.
Instead, I found Unhook is a better fit. It doesn't block the website like Leechblock. It just removes the addictive parts of the websites, like feeds and recommendations.
(Also works on Firefox mobile!)
This has been great because I can still watch YouTube for repairs, tutorials, etc for as long as necessary, but I don't get pulled into a rabbit hole with all the addictive crap.

I tried a random Writefreely instance and it was extremely barebones and had poor markdown styling. It gave me the impression that Writefreely is more for publishing short stories, rather than technical content.
(Is that the point of Writefreely?)
I've been using LibreOffice more these days for writing, slides, and spreadsheets. I can't remember now the last time I used a Google app for this.

Those are fake. Laws are fake. Government is fake. Money is fake. Everything is an illusion. It's not a physical law of nature or something. It all boils down to if someone feels like doing something or meh... and the people in charge here are more like meh.

In the US: Yeah, just about every barbershop I've ever been to only accepts cash. Sometimes they accept card, but there's an extra charge and you have to wait until they find where they put the machine. And generally the barbers themselves seem to prefer cash.
Also, food trucks and food stands? Not all of those accept cards.
I know people like this. For some reason people affected by different policies are surprised because they thought he was kidding. Deportations? Na, he's not actually gonna do that. Tarrifs? Na, he wouldn't do that.

I might be having this issue. When I update an item the UI doesn't get updated. However, if I refresh the UI by searching for something else, then go back to my updated item, I see the new values.
It's really annoying.

I also got mine recently! Definitely agree with the rough around the edges part. This is definitely an artisanal, hand-rolled, music player. It... doesn't seem very durable. Mine rattles when I move it...
I bought it to support open source and because I'm hoping it'll last a long time. (As long as I don't move it too much.)
