Growing horns by farting on citizens in Fable
Don't forget to find one of those citizens that are temporarily immortal to punch and kick their shit for maximum physical experience. I loved doing that on that first city, after finishing the quest where the dude convinces you to change your hair and beard "for his daughter".
Does dwarf fortress count as a modern game or a 20 year old game?
Yes.
Both and a game 20 years from the future when Toady finally finishes it.
Nah we're going to transfer his consciousness into a robit so he can keep working forever
Similarly, I play a game called Clan Lord that came out in the 90s, but still gets updated regularly.
I guess you could technically play one of the older versions
Me and my RuneScape account are plenty offended, thank you
No no, he said 10 years, not 20
Haha how weird and quirky! A game from 2013? No one's ever played those before! You must be so special and unique! But not as special and unique as me, playing games from the 80s! Oh wait. There's nothing special and unique about any of this.
Oof. You made a conscious decision to be like this.
I am totally going to borrow this reply, though usually it's not true; the choice to be cruel and bitter typically a subconscious need to lash out.
Encouraging people to be themselves and not determine their worth based on the age of the games they play? Yes. People are more than this. It's sad as hell to put yourself down just because the game is old.
I find it curious to see people having this sort of insecurity (in some cases, some sort of aversion) with playing older games, while they don't have it with other media, like books or music.
They probably posted it here specifically because they knew people would find it relatable, actually.
I think it was more about the getting goals done in a game instead of real life, and the 10 years was tacked on because some people do like to keep up on the newer games.
I fail to see the issue
Exactly, why is that a ... negative?
I would say this is all about Skyrim, but I do think that game still is very popular today
My top two games played this year are over 10 years old each.
My 3rd most played is Baldur's Gate 3, weighing in at 250 hours, so I've got that going for me.
Mine were 7 and 14, respectively, and then I had Diablo 4, so I understand.
I'm still not sure how much I like BG3, but I have sunk 90h into it at this point, so it can't be that bad.
My game of the year for 2023 was probably the Q2 remaster, overall.
*while ignoring any real-life counterpart of any of those. (except goals, kinda, since your goal at the moment is doing those things in that game).
The real-life mission system is totally broken. I've accomplished tons of goals and the rewards usually don't even trigger, at all.
My goal is to ignore irl goals for in-game ones 😤
Steam sales, yo!
I started playing Project Zomboid this year. Its about a decade old but they're still adding features.
Why does it matter how old the game is?
And I'm just over here constructing additional pylons.
This is me saving other civilians in This War of Mine since I can't save anyone in a real war zone.
idk loads of war zones going on, you could probably give it a shot.
Last person I saw try ended up going into a suspicious looking hole in the earth in his skivvies.
There's only a few games I played before release, RimWorld and Stone Shard.
Currently I'm playing Beneath a Steel Sky from 1994, and Fallout 4 is next.
And I will celebrate with you each time you recover the Amulet of Yendor
Ahh that sweet sweet dopamine. If you don’t have any handy, gamebought is fine.
Imagine how much cooler you'd be if the game were newer.
Nah. Older games are often less fancy, so gameplay and execution need to carry. Time culls the mediocre, leaving only the memorable behind.
idk I still think 100%ing donkey kong 64 is still one of the greatest accomplishments humanity has won
me @ sims 2
also me @ kings quest 5
I am CRUSHING Assetto Corsa rn
Try it with a wheel in VR ASAP if you can find a way!
only starting to get into minecraft now
I'm just catching up on here before I go back to my Sims 3 game.. 😂
Oblivion
That was almost 20 years ago. Damn I'm old.
Noooooo
I still play Harvest dawn every now and then to fall asleep
so true bestie
I started Conan exiles with a buddy recently, it's pretty dope, actually, it's like an ark survival evolved but an order of magnitude less shitty (with a few caveats).
Edit: nvm I looked it up and it's from 2018, feels a lot older, it's really fun tho
My gta online bank account and financial portfolio
To my actual bank account and safemoon
I’m not interested unless I see “First transmitted via telegraph by the US Government, 1883.” in the about section of the game store.
I cannot play unless Ben Franklin himself has endorsed it.
