I like the subtle use of the two different color backgrounds to indicate a frame/perspective shift from within the same room. Well done.
- Even the plant disappears
- i think it's rather because in second and third we're in its head, we can read what it's thinking
  
  He closes his eyes only on the third panel. We never follow him into his head. I wager it's more a perspective/mood shift
