I hate that this meme and dog has become associated with crypto, Elon Musk and Republicans.

  First they came for Pepe, but I didn't speak up cause I didn't post Pepe memes. Then they came for Twitter. But I didn't speak up cause I wasn't on Twitter. Then they came for my Doge, but there was no one left to speak for me.

  Please explain how the best way to improve government efficiency is to establish and staff an new department and give it two leaders.

Nothing more efficient than creating an entire quasi governmental branch of bureaucracy to oversee the bureaucracy

- They're not even creating a new branch because that would require congressional approval. They're just renaming the US Digital Service (the IT department for the feds) to the US Doge service. Probably chose it to keep the acronym the same, USDS. Completely pointless

  That means doge.gov site will be treated as ~~equal to~~ a duplicate of x.com/doge. That doesn't seem like a very governmental approach...

So ironic. The site does nothing. There's nothing to click on. or any plans/goals. I don't get the joke.

  It appears that, before they completely removed the Spanish translation the "Go to home page" button might have been still Spanish and read "Vete a casa"

How did they get this approved
- They don’t need anyone’s approval. They’re in charge. This is a flex.
- Americas citizens voted them into the highest office in the land (either directly or passively).
  There is no more 'get this approved'; just 'this is what I've decided, deal with it'.

"The people" voted against Trump. More people voted for Kamala or a third party than voted for Trump.
- Trump got more votes than anyone other single person.
  That's how the US election works, the single person with the most votes win.
  The people who didn't vote for Kamala or Trump wasted their votes. Unfortunately that's how the broken "first past the ballot" system works in the US.
  America knows how the system works, they chose him.
  Hell tens of millions don't even care enough to go vote.
