Bulletins and News Discussion from January 20th to January 26th, 2025 - Viva La Resistance

Image is of many Hamas soldiers supervising the handing over of Israeli hostages to cars heading out of the Gaza Strip.

After 15 months of genocide - and resistance to it - the Israeli regime realized that they could not win a military victory against Hamas, and were forced to sign a humiliating ceasefire in order to get their hostages returned.

With much of Syria under the control of Al-Qaeda, and an increasing level of covert infiltration into Lebanon, the crisis in the Middle East is not over, and we may still be in its beginning stages, as the center of hegemony continues its gradual shift away from the United States. Their navy, once considered the best in the world, is likely also not very happy about their ships and aircraft carriers being forced to retreat by Yemen, one of the poorest countries; and all eyes are on Iran, who has, over the last year and a half, demonstrated a newfound confidence and strength to directly strike Israel.

The recovery for Gaza will take, at a minimum, decades; it could indeed never fully recovery to even how it was before, considering it is not in Israel's interests to see their concentration camps recover. But Hamas has proven to be steadfast and the tunnel network has proven its resilience, despite facing some of the most powerful conventional bombing in history. This shows that Palestine's liberation is a when, not an if; and hopefully a much sooner "when" than expected before October 7th.

  • Can you imagine if China decides to carry out a massive deportation of I don't know, mongolian people just because they don't like foreigners? Can you imagine the reaction of the entire West after hearing a CCP official say stuff like "We have to go after the illegal aliens who commited crimes but there will be collateral deportations as well as the people who surround our targets will also be arrested" or "I don't care if a person is born in the US and is granted citizenship, if their parents are illegal immigrants they're out"?

We're being fed shit about Xinjiang while the US helps "Israel" carry out a genocide and are preparing for a potential genocide at home too, and the outrage? and the resistance from the so called "enlightened peoples" that don't live "out there in the jungle"?

This pathetic fucking wretched beast that is the Westrern World cannot die soon enough omg. We have to go this insanely painful process before it finally succums to it's own wounds. Yeah, the West is literally killing itself because they're too afraid of some people who want to share the same spaces as them, literally the most insecure people in History. It's not that China or the evil Easterners are besieging the West with warships and imposing horrible blockades and genocides, no, the West is literally suicidal for no good reason lmao.

    What a shitload of fuck.

  • NBC has just revealed that Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has banned a US military plane carrying deported immigrants from landing in her country. The White House and the Mexican Embassy declined to comment.

@MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net This confirms what you said about Mexico refusing to allow American planes to use Mexican airspace to deport immigrants

  • I'd be interested to hear what y'alls analysis of the situation is and what you expect to happen in the next 3-12 months.

    Trump has so far

    • Crashed the farming industry.
    • Alienated the EU
    • Reignited talks of Californian secession
    • Ushered in a ceasefire in Gaza
    • Appointed Boris Yeltsin as SOD
    • Almost made Epstein-lite AG
    • Been the devil for queer and trans people
    • Ramped up ICE
    • Continued the previous administrations strategy of ignoring the bird flu.
    • Elon heil
    • Please add more

All in all I'd say my evaluation that he'd be better than Kamala on foreign policy (not out of a kind heart, but out of being a big Doofus) and the devil domestically was correct. As contradictions heighten I think we'll see events that make the summer of 2020 look like a warm-up.
Not downplaying what is happening, but a lot of what I see reported about domestic issues isn't really more than what was already developing, it's just getting attention now that the libs are in opposition. Though the persecution of queer people is wild and I had not predicted Elon doing the sieg heil nor the corporate pullback from many institutions that ensured some safety for minorities.
That's scary. I'm lucky I don't live in the us (haven't for years).

From a personal perspective, the Greenland stuff scares me. I've got danish family, until recently I lived in Denmark. I'd like to go back someday.

  • Just so we're on the same page - we're 100% watching the start of american labor camps for illegal immigrants, right?

When do you'll think we'll get the first official facility? Will it be state run or private? Will it stem from prisons, due to that new law (accused of robbery in the last 10 years)?

  • After the end of the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel this morning, the Lebanese people are bravely confronting the the Israeli military occupation units that remain in south-eastern Lebanon, walking right up to Israeli tanks, going ahead of the Lebanese army and past their fortifications to confront the Zionists, and returning to their towns and homes. This has resulted in confrontations between the Israeli military and Lebanese civilians with Israel shooting at the Lebanese people to try stop them from returning, with 15 dead and 83 injured 22 dead and 123 injured, including 9 minors and a paramedic, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. This has also forced the Lebanese army to actually fulfill their mandate and protect the people, as the people went ahead of the army to confront the occupation. One Lebanese army soldier is also set to have been killed.

There are too many videos and photos to post individually, but they are astounding to see.

My favourite two, very contrasting emotions:

The Middle East Observer twitter account has compiled a bunch of videos and photos on his account, if you want to see more. Even a makeshift shrine for the martyrs has been erected.

  • Elon Musk appears in a video at a German far-right campaign event. Musk spoke of the importance of preserving German culture, which cannot be lost in some kind of multiculturalism that dilutes everything

Billionaire Elon Musk made a surprise appearance at an AfD (Alternative fuer Deutschland) election campaign event in Halle, eastern Germany, on Saturday, speaking publicly in support of the far-right party for the second time in a few weeks.

  • Yes… great strategy just keep yelling about j 6 like you have already been doing non stop for four years now.

Oh yeah prescription drug prices but not FREE just more “fair”

You know what they say; if at first you don’t succeed…. just keep doing the same bullshit over and over again and hope for a different result magically.

  • Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum says she will talk with Brazilian President Lula da Silva about a joint Latin American response to the expansionist policies of Donald Trump, who is threatening to seize the Panama Canal and is trying to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico. Asked about a joint statement in the face of Trump's expansionist threats and new migration policy, Sheinbaum said there was “unity” in Latin America.

“I've had several phone calls in recent days, I've spoken to [Guatemalan President Bernardo] Arévalo, there was a meeting of the foreign ministers of different Latin American and Caribbean countries and in recent days we're going to speak to President Lula,” Sheinbaum said at her daily press conference.

  • An American company wants to build a luxury bunker in Virginia by 2026 for 625 of the world's richest people in the event of a global catastrophe, the Daily Mail reports. The entrance fee is $20 million, the project price is $300 million. The shelter will provide medical care based on artificial intelligence, the ability to retire and "do business", and, if necessary, close yourself in a special capsule for additional security. There will be luxury restaurants, an indoor pool, cold bath centers, IV therapy rooms, a bowling alley and a climbing wall.

The bunker is located near the White House, but project leaders insist that this is a coincidence and has nothing to do with current global tensions.

probably just another techbro/rich people scam

  • PA security forces have clashed with local Palestinian militias in the West Bank, seen as the common enemy of both the PA and Israel. Cooperation between the PA security forces and the IDF is reflected by the fact that the former have simply remained in their barracks during IDF raids and have actively interfered with militants' defenses against those raids.

During the Israel–Hamas war, the rate of clashes has increased. The July 2024 West Bank unrest directed against the Palestinian Authority was a major escalation in the conflict, sparked by the alleged arrest attempt of "Abu Shujaa", the leader of the Tulkarm Brigade, on 26 July. The PA also launched notable operations into Tubas in October 2024 and into Jenin in December 2024.

Internet videos surfaced showing PA forces beating and torturing Palestinians who expressed opposition to the Jenin operation on social media. In one case detainees were filmed being forced to chant in praise of President Abbas. The crackdown spread to areas outside of Jenin as well, with one Palestinian activist in Artas near Bethlehem reporting that security forces had raided his home and insulted his family in response to his criticism of the operation. Brigadier General Anwar Rajab said that the incidents were under investigation.

Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Resistance Committees all condemned the Palestinian Authority's operation, including the killing of Jaayseh. Hamas official Abdul-Rahman Shadeed said that the PA must "strengthen the national cause" instead of suppressing anti-Israel militancy.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was reported to have "expressed satisfaction" with the course of the Jenin operation, and the Israeli security cabinet directed the IDF to bolster collaboration with the PA security forces on the recommendation of the Central Command.

"Jenin is now a microcosmos of the whole West Bank. If the PA sputters there, its control in the entire region is in danger. All told, the units have legitimization to act at the moment, despite the criticism of the Abu Mazen [Abbas] government. If they're successful in Jenin, it's likely that they will try to extend their activity to additional refugee camps in the north part of the West Bank. If they fail, or if we kick them out of there, that could signal the beginning of the end of their rule." - An Israeli security source told Haaretz:

However, following discussions among Israeli security officials, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi decided to recommend on 29 December that the Israeli government not approve transfers of weapons to the PA forces, as had been requested by the United States

Mahmoud Abbas doesn't even hide the fact that he's just a puppet of the US and Israel. Fuck this guy and his party. At least the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, which still seem to have some ties to Fatah and the PLO, are still attacking Israel and helping the resistance.

  • Politico: State Department issues immediate, widespread pause on foreign aid

It appears to go further than President Donald Trump’s recent executive order, which instructed the department to pause foreign aid grants for 90 days pending review by the secretary. It had not been clear from the president’s order if it would affect already appropriated funds or Ukraine aid.

Still, the document leaves room for interpretation and does provide some exceptions. It specifies that foreign military financing for Egypt and Israel will continue and allows emergency food assistance and “legitimate expenses incurred prior to the date of this” guidance “under existing awards.” At points, it also says the decisions need to be “consistent with the terms of the relevant award.”

One current State Department official, plus two former Biden administration officials, said the pause appears to stop aid to key allies such as Ukraine, Jordan and Taiwan. These officials were granted anonymity to discuss sensitive internal government documents.

Stopping aid to Ukraine and Taiwan is pretty huge, even if temporary. Would be nice if Israel was included, but that would be silly to expect.

  • Hey, news nerds, take a break from all the crazy stuff happening and hear about a little scandal from the world of Go.

A big international tournament, the LG Cup, just finished. The finals consisted of three games between Korean player Byun Sang-il and the famous Chinese player Ke Jie, who is #3 in the world, and has held the #1 spot before.

A rule was introduced about two weeks before the tournament to penalize players for placing a captured stone on the table instead of a bowl, where they can be more easily seen by the opponent, and which matters for keeping track of the score. In the Chinese ruleset, you don't keep track of captures, so Chinese players aren't used to being attentive to them. Korean players have complained about Chinese players "hiding" their stones, causing them to miscount the game, which is why the rule was made.

In game 2 of the finals, Ke Jie set a stone on the table, and his opponent called a ref, and he was penalized two points, which is substantial in pro game. However, Ke Jie made up the difference and was winning, until... he left another stone on the table. His opponent called a ref while he was up getting a drink of water, and this time the penalty was forfeiting the game.

    Look at this nerd:

Ke Jie had won the first match, and he was ahead in the second, but his opponent won the third (actually, Ke Jie lost game 3 by the same rule, but he was far behind and may have done it intentionally). This little technicality decided the entire tournament. Rules are rules, but it's a very bullshit way to win, and it's very unsportsmanlike to put the trophy and prize money above the integrity of the game. People are pissed.

The good news is, you probably don't care about go, so you don't have to worry about this! You may now return to your regularly scheduled hellworld.

  • An update on the United States migrant deportation flights situation: After México blocked US military transport planes deporting immigrants from using their airspace (a story first broken by us on hexbear, believe it or not, we actually managed to get something right and beat the mainstream media), Colombia decided to do the same. This led to the rather embarrassing scenario of the two C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft having to turn around mid flight.

The United States and Trump have decided to respond, and are not taking this lightly. Trump has now implemented, effective immediately (according to himself):

    • 25% tariffs on all goods coming into the U.S. from Colombia, that will rise to 50% after one week.
    • A travel ban and visa revocation of all Colombian government officals.
    • Visa sanctions on all party members of the Colombian Government, and their 'allies'.
    • State treasury, banking and financial sanctions.
    • Enhanced border inspections of Colombian citizens and cargo.

So it has begun... He's actually going to do it, not that I expected him not to, deportation of illegal immigrants has popular support inside the USA (which only grew as Trump got closer to taking office) and Trump will definitely make very public displays of power and force here.

My takeaway: this is a warning shot towards México; they either let the US deportation flights use their airspace and maybe even land in México itself, or México will face the same sanctions as Colombia.

  • maybe you all knew Destiny was a sex pest (I wasn't aware) but apparently there's a new wave of scandal breaking

Destiny is a vile depraved sex creep who has been running a sex cult with the fans he grooms in his community. The fact that he taped them without their consent, and then sent these tapes to others he was grooming without their consent, is completely normal from that vile scumbag

  • Footage has been released by the Al-Qassam Brigades of Yahya Sinwar, the martyred leader of Hamas, on the frontlines of the battlefield in Gaza, co-ordinating and conducting operations. He is seen walking around with a cane/staff, dealing with some kind of ailment/injury. He is also seen within visual range of an abandoned/destroyed Israeli Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC).
