A lot of the anti-trans legislation specifically targets minors by banning puberty blockers and HRT for people under 18, forcing students to use the bathroom matching their AGAB in schools, forcing teachers to out trans students to their parents etc. The US in particular has a sizeable conversion "therapy" industry that largely targets minors. Trans kids are also much more at the mercy of their parents supporting them in their social and / or medical transition. Trans youth are an extremely vulnerable population, they just lack a lot of the ressources that people transitioning at a later age have while being in a much more precarious social and psychological situation. Being a teenager is hard enough as it is, but being a trans teenager with an unsupportive home and school environment leaves you little to no room to escape.

And the numbers from that stufy reflect that. The 72% increase in suicides is specifically for people aged 13-17. It is nowhere near that high in any other age group. And that's due to the factors outlined above. These laws and this social climate disproportionally kill children.
