- Retro Mahjong and your preferred games
Two years back i went to Sakuracon in Seattle and they had a whole room dedicated to teaching Riichi Mahjong, and my wife and i found it to be a particularly addicting game. Naturally wanted to find some console versions because we dont really have other people around us who are interested in playing the table game.
ive seen a lot of retro mahjong games and not so much modern console ones. not really a big deal, but there seems to be a lot of import mahjong games and i cant really tell even from gameplay videos are considered ‘good’. So, if you like these games, which ones would you recommend? i have a super famicom, and a saturn. im not opposed to buying another console for a game if it is like the golden goose of mahjong.
Additionally, why do a lot of these games have some sexy overtones to them? i dont mind it, but this game type seems to have it in excess.

- Recommendations on casual GB/GBA games?
Hi! Maybe y'all can help me out.
I have a Miyoo mini plus and sometimes, I feel the itch to play something just to fiddle around a bit. I'm looking for something that's easy to pick up and pla' for a few minutes up to maybe half an hour.
Bonus points if I can play it without needing to use my speech recognizing brain functions. It would be ideal if I can just occupy my hands a pit while still listening to what my colleagues say in remote meetings (I used to use a rubik's cube for that). ADD is a bitch.
I already got:
- Apotris (really awesome, but a bit stressful after a while)
- Wario Ware (can also get a bit stressful)
- Pokemon Pinball Saphire and ruby (great, but has gotten a bit repetitive now)
- ... that's it
It doesn't have to be GB/GBA, but I recon that those systems have the biggest bounty of pick up and play games. The Miyoo Mini Plus can emulate everything up to PS1, so SNES and PS1 would be fine, too.

Retro Gaming News: FPGA PS1 Teased By MiSTer Pi Creator
Before the PlayStation celebrates its 30th anniversary, Taki Udon, creator of the MiSTer Pi FPGA-based console, has unveiled a teaser for a new FPGA system inspired by the original PlayStation. This device aims to emulate games from both this and other systems with exceptional fidelity.
A Device for Retro Gamers' Delight
- FPGA Technology: Utilizing Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), this console promises to deliver a level of accuracy not matched by software emulators. FPGAs replicate system performance at a hardware level, offering minimal latency and reduced input lag compared to software emulation.

The TrimUI Brick Takes Inspiration From The Analogue Pocket
TrimUI has recently announced the release of their new device, the TrimUI Brick, which features a design heavily influenced by that of the popular Analogue Pocket. With its wide range of FPGA cores and software emulation capabilities, the Analogue Pocket continues to draw interest from fans.
The announcement of the TrimUI Brick highlights an ongoing trend in the market—companies copying successful design elements of established products like the Analogue Pocket to create their own versions.
While the TrimUI Brick may not support physical game cartridges, it boasts an Allwinner A133 Plus chipset, providing a 3.2 inch 1024×768 IPS display, and offering the Analogue style for enthusiasts on a lower budget.
One unique feature set apart from its inspiration is the inclusion of an RGB light at the top of the device. While it shares some similarities like a stepped back design (lacking a cartridge slot) and three function buttons on the front, the overall functionality isn't as directly emulated due to the device's reliance on software emulation.
