  • In French, the plural they is the masculine ils for mixed gender groups, and only the feminine elles for groups that are exclusively feminine. On is a singular gender neutral form of they often used in situations with unknown gender.

I would use on for singular and ils for plural when talking about a non-binary person because that seems the most reasonable application of the language as I understand it.

However as a non-native speaker I would defer to whatever native speakers do. Can't say I know what the established best practice is.

  • There are so many different things that are called AI, the term AI doesn't have any meaning whatsoever. Generally it seems to mean anything that includes machine learning somewhere in the process, but it's largely a marketing term.

Stealing art is wrong. Using ridiculous amounts of power to generate text is ridiculous. Building a text model that will very confidently produce misinformation is pretty dumb.

There are things that are called AI that are fine, but most aren't.

  • Weird right wingers kept going on about trans people, and I wanted to be informed about it and learned a few things about myself in the process.

I genuinely had no idea for most of my life. The signs were there all along but only in retrospect. It took me 2-3 years of questioning before I started transitioning. I was not ever truly certain I was trans until I started HRT, and everything started to feel fine, like genuinely fine. Didn't realize I was depressed from dysphoria my entire life because I had no point of comparison.

I certainly envy the trans people who were able to learn they were trans at an early age. The best time to transition is just before the start of puberty, the second best time is now.

  • Pretty much every part of the EU is in some way negotiable. You absolutely can join the EU without adopting the currency.

The main exception is Schengen. You can't become any kind of EU country without being part of the single market/open boarders agreement.

  • How'd it go? Notice anything?

Fat will deposit in more feminine places but there is no mechanism to actively remove it from elsewhere. That's why trans men need top surgery. Hormones can only make they cannot unmake.

You do burn fat and it is removed everywhere in an impartial way. Expect changes to take time.

Sometime soon your nipples will start to get sore and hurt. That means things are developing!

  • there seem to be a few. just now scrolling through local new I found a Colombian community and one in a language that I don't recognize.

It's mostly english with some exceptions. Is there a particular language you're looking for?

Make sure your accounts language settings are configured as you want it. It can hide languages you don't select, though most content is listed as undetermined.

  • Every study uses sampling. They don't have the resources to check everything. I have to imagine it took a lot of work to verify conclusively whether something was or was not generated. It's a much larger sample size than a lot of studies.

  • It takes months if not years for a case to be appealed to the supeme court. They don't even accept most cases.

Any court federal can issue an order on this if a case is brought. Courts cannot do anything unless asked. That's kind of how the legal process works. Someone, or some AG will file a suit. Might take a few days or weeks.

  • I am a member of a union that predates the NLRB. And it will continue even if its gone. Unions did strikes when they were illegal. The law just makes strikes more peaceful, which is generally better for everyone involved, but it's not essential.

  • Get ready for 2028. That is the year, right?

US laws offers enough protections for legal strikes that unions follow the law so they can't do solidarity strikes. UAW is aligning their contract renewals for 2028, so it can happen then. But also if they repeal the nlra there will be little incentive to not start doing solidarity strikes.

  • it would be, but they are the minority party in the federal legislature. They can't do the things you're suggesting on their own. Obstructionism is the best course of action. You're asking for things they literally can't do, instead of things they choose not to like normal.

FAA is run by the executive branch. They are subject to laws that have to pass the republican legislature. Not a reasonable option at this point unless republicans start to turn on musk.

Those who could craft or enforce laws against musk right now are the states. If a state could charge musk with a crime and arrest him for it it could stick. The presidential pardon only extends to federal crimes.
