Painters - Inconsistent painter (3d) looking for suggestions

So I like to draw a bit, that kinda turned into painting and then exploded into 3d design. Now I want to paint my prints but with my experience I am not sure what to get. I won’t use the paints outside of prints most likely. Are there any that are good that are good to be used sparsely? Maybe any techniques?

Multiple grocery stores, clinics forced to evacuate after bomb threats in Springfield
  • Yeah the whole point is to make enough fake ones to get the authorities to drop security, then do a real one, rinse, repeat. It’s a common tactic to whittle down resources in combat (not saying terrorism is combat to be clear) if outnumbered

  • What weird false belief did you have as a kid?
  • The crust on bread had more nutrients than the center. My dad didn’t want to cut my crusts off lol.

My uncle always swapped the words breast and best so my cousin mixes them up sometimes to this day. He said ‘breast friend’ at his brother’s wedding

  • I've got banned from Apex Legends
  • Market share is growing with the existence of Proton and the incoming presence of Microsoft Recall. I will be deleting my Windows OS when they do that. Dual booting the same files didn’t work so I never made the full switch but I only use Windows for gaming

  • [Lemmy] forget up/down votes. Lemmy should embrace emoji reacts like Misskey.
  • I would say solely doing this would be unpopular and I wouldn’t be for it.

I could see it working. Properties:

Assign each emoji an up/downvote and keep the current system. Hitting an emoji also does one of these.

Have a separate bar for emojis that is collapsed by default

Make emojis optional so you can still up/downvote

  • Peloton announces $95 “used equipment activation fee”
  • Thanks, I meant terms & conditions, fixed. If I buy a product that does not have an activation fee in the t&c at time of purchase, legally I probably shouldn't have to pay it even if they implement it later and I waited to activate. That would maybe still require you to sign up even if you aren't paying to get the t&c then though. It could be argued that since the fee was not in place at time of purchase it shouldn't apply and that is what I meant by 'sticky' is all.

  • Pokemon nostalgia
  • There are a lot of games and Tv Shows I’d like to do this with. It would need to be selective because I wouldn’t want to miss memories with friends and stuff.

These come to mind TV: Mr. Robot, The Expanse

Games: Fallout (pick any), Witcher 3, Skyrim

  • Peloton announces $95 “used equipment activation fee”
  • My thoughts exactly. This seems like a short term play to boost the stock price, let execs get out of the market, then sell off the company before it goes under.

Also how are they gonna prove you didn’t buy it before the announcement and just didn’t register/use it until after? Seems to me that’s gonna be sticky in the eyes of copyright terms & conditions

  • Spring Potential Energy

Say a dissolvable spring is compressed with a bolt and nut that do not melt in a sulfuric acid solution. The spring has quite a bit of potential energy at this point since it is compressed. Assuming the spring dissolves perfectly (no breakage, just complete disintegration), what happens to the potential energy of the spring?

    ________________________________________________ **Steam Announcement 5/2/24 **

This announces the return of PSN forced logins

“Due to technical issues at the launch of HELLDIVERS™ 2, we allowed the linking requirements for Steam accounts to a PlayStation Network account to be temporarily optional. That grace period will now expire. See details below in this post.

Account linking plays a critical role in protecting our players and upholding the values of safety and security provided on PlayStation and PlayStation Studios games. This is our main way to protect players from griefing and abuse by enabling the banning of players that engage in that type of behaviour. It also allows those players that have been banned the right to appeal.” __________________________________________________ **Playstation Announcement 5/5/24 **

Backing out the PSN account changes, some corpo BS basically

"Helldivers fans—we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward. We’re still learning what is best for PC players and your feedback has been invaluable. Thanks again for your continued support of Helldivers 2 and we’ll keep you updated on future plans.”

    __________________________________________________ **Some Analysis **

Basically from the information I gathered here’s how I see it went down. The notice requiring PSN connection was always there where all the EULA requirements are (right side of the store page next to the game features. You have to scroll past the buy button to see it. I never look at those. “Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account)” The PSN connection requirement was —active— on launch for a short amount of time. Due to the massive server lag this was causing they paused the feature. They then reenabled, leading to the previous 2 announcements.

    __________________________________________________ **Problems I see with Sony **

    1. They should never have sold to the 177 countries that it is illegal Corporate BS from the FAQ basically says go to a country that supports PSN, make an account, and go back.

Comment from @jet@hackertalks.com “Basically if you don’t live in a PSN country, they want you to lie to make a PSN account, making you in breach of the TOS. But they don’t want to say it directly. So they only answer in that mealy mouthed if you’re traveling scenario. What this means is if you live in one of the 66% of the world countries that doesn’t have access to PSN You’re going to lose access to the game. Unless you lie. And if you lie you could get banned.”

    1. They needed to make it absolutely clear in-game that they were having server issues and that PSN login would be required once they got that sorted.

This was a fuck-up on their part not keeping their users informed. If they had put in that simple notification in-game none of this would have happened.

    1. After one or two months of the feature not working and having huge success with the servers, amount of users, and player engagement, they should have just scrapped the feature.

    2. Anyone being gifted the game would not have been aware of this, ever. __________________________________________________ **Good things that happened: **

    3. Steam offered full refunds to anyone that played, regardless of hours, which is extremely rare

    4. After much collaboration from the gamers, PSN is no longer required

    5. Gamers were able to push a corpo to not do some BS. Huge win

    __________________________________________________ **To summarize: **

I didn’t notice the 3rd party login that was present when I purchased. That’s on me. Early gamers knew about the PSN connection. Any one of them that thought it was bad would have just returned it. Any one who didn’t care kept playing and didn’t bring it up because they didn’t care. Sony probably made the assumption people pay attention to those things. I will continue to play. For Democracy!

If you did leave a negative review consider taking it down. It is still a very great game. I’m going to delete mine but am not going to give a positive one due to the fuckery.

    Amazon

With the addition of ads for paying users, is there anything subscribers can do to protest? I hate ads with a passion.

Maybe separate all shipping items to cost them more? I’m not seeing many options other than cancellation

    Tipping culture in U.S.

There are laws in place for service workers related to minimum wage. The employers have to make up the difference if tips don’t meet the rate for hours worked. It seems to me that’s not sufficient for the times.

Hypothetically, if everyone were to stop tipping in the U.S. would things be better or worse for workers? Would employers start paying workers more?
