i’ve been there! i went at least a decade without brushing my teeth regularly, and definitely without a professional cleaning. once you get things fixed up, stick with it! find a way to brush twice a day and floss at least once a day. it’s worth it!
disclaimer: i had to have eleven fillings and a root canal the first time i went in. it was as rough as it sounds, but i picked a dentist who would put me under general anesthesia. that was a huge help for me in the beginning. now i can sit through a single cleaning/filling, but not more than that.
chuck (foster dog) is recovering well from his rear left limb amputation. took him to the vet to get his stitches out, but they’re not quite healed, so we have another appointment next week. he was cleared for a bath, so we’re heading out to do that now!
i had my teeth cleaned today and remembered to bring my headphones. spent a majority of my appointment listening to an audiobook, which made the appointment both quicker and less stressful. 😀
chuck went in for knee surgery on thursday and came out a tripawd. his injury was much worse than originally thought. he also had diarrhea most of the weekend, but we’re finally out of that stage now. he is resting and seems to be adapting pretty well, all things considered.
my other dog is in for a teeth cleaning today and getting at least one pulled today, which means 2/3 dogs here will be drugged up and in recovery of some sort. thankfully dental recovery is usually quite quick and easy.
i have a truck for towing my travel trailer and doing other truck tasks like hauling stuff around in the bed (we take the small coupe or bikes everywhere else), and i love this idea!
heck yeah! i made a crochet sweater last year, and i’ve got another two baby blankets in the works along with a bonnet for my sister’s horse. last year really kicked me into a big crochet habit, and i’ve made so many things over the past year!
this year, i’d like to make some progress on the bike i’m restoring for my partner. maybe with the goal of having a working bike by the end of october (assuming the parts don’t take forever to come in).
i'm on week three of new meds, and the negative side-effects seem to have worn off. i can't really tell if the actual intended effects are working yet (more focus). it does seem like it's easier to break away from certain time sinks like mindlessly scrolling on my phone in the morning... but i'm not entirely sure. 🤷
i have my therapy appointment in ~15 minutes, so maybe she'll be able to pinpoint something i can't see for myself.
Same sex couples were not included in the research. Because the patterns there may differ significantly, the authors are now exploring those separately.
dang. that’s the data i was most curious about, because they’ve already got something in common.
see if there are any community gardens in your area. they’re basically what you’re talking about, although usually only the land owner and/or farm manager lives there. my favorite one around here also has a rotating volunteer position who lives on site.
