I don't know if just choosing to ignore this all is the correct response. I mean, it's not overencumbering, but it feels like it also is a way for capital to reign free.
Maybe I'm just reading badly into it.
The correct way to fight against capitalism is to get together with your neighbours and start building communities that aren't reliant on the Big Market.
lemmy.ml is an instance that has a large number of so-called Marxist-Leninists, who in addition to being an authoritarian socialist ideology support the USSR, China and basically any "anti-west" country for just being anti-west. They don't take criticism of Russia lightly, even though modern-day Russia is not even close to MLism. But it's anti-US, which is good enough for them.
I've seen another satire on the whole zionism thing claiming that Tel Aviv buildings were appropriate targets as they had F7s hidden inside them and such were military targets.
People miss that giving away to the far-right will not satisfy them. No, the far-right doesn't stop until it reaches its goals of having authoritarian ethnostates. If we want to stop that, we can't make people complacent with it by introducing the reforms slowly. We have to steer them away.
The EU can do good if we decide we want to. For that to happen however, we have to throw behind the idea of uncontrolled neoliberalism and start enforcing human rights using soft power. The CSDDD is a step forward for ensuring exactly that.
Such is the policy when you don't treat migrants as people, or at least as second-grade people. You don't do shit, because why invest in helping them even if that would've naturally reduced migration, when you can just ask other countries to do whatever you need to keep them out.
Critical of governments, you say? Okay, good. Let me criticize Russia and China for the same thing I would criticize the EU and US, for being capitalist states of misery. For supporting wars for profit. For doing neo-imperialism.
Or do you just want to pretend that if it's not the west it's good?
If you want to say Zionists then say Zionists, do not legitimise the equivalence of Zionism with being Jewish. There are two kinds of people who do that, Zionists and Nazis, and you don't wanna be either.
I don't see invasion of a sovereign country being soft imperialism in any sense, goes both for Russia and Israel. And yes, the US too.
If you're interested in soft imperialism, you can have China and the EU.
