Exactly. If the author retracts an article, I could see that they're honest about themselves and probably just did something wrong, whilst journal retraction is deifnitely a red flag

Here's the thing, it hasn't. Because that's not how this works. Racist laws don't help white people that are still stealt from, they just harm the minorities more. They look like they improve the standing of whites, but that's merely because they've degrading others rights at a faster rate than whites'.
It is also very good for fascists. If you can convince leftists that left is the right, they will either join the fascist movement or leave the left, both of which mean less opposition.
OP picks all of those people that say they're leftist but in fact they're first and foremost anti-liberal. Which, I mean, liberalism is shite. But if you make the abolishment of liberalism your top priority, above replacing capitalism with a more socialist system, then it's likely you will cooperate with fascists sooner than later.
