  • He wasn't just a joke, musk was legally forced to make his deal real to avoid having manipulated the market and potentially go to prison. This was before he became POTUS . If it happened today he would just tell the courts to fuck off and replace those who aren't loyal without ever actually buying twitter

  • Twitter was never profitable until data was worth enough and even then..

Musk tried to pump and dump the stock by saying it was worth much more than it was. Then he immediately got sued because if you manipulate the market like that and have the cash to pay, you have to or it's considered a crime. Musk then tried to back out, shareholders threaten to sue, and he pretended he actually didnt wanna back out and bought it.

He purchased it at twice its market value and has since not only cut 80% of staff, but also lost 80% of its original value (not the double musk paid)..

Twitter only had value to musk because he wanted to use it as a disinformation tool to help SA/Russia/China. He immediately made it a right wing platform where this content is more valuable. It was a dumb decision, still has a dumb business plan and a fuckton of debts. The only reason it didn't disappear completely is Musk is too rich, but it's trending down. It's projected to grow as the US becomes an oligarchy but not because it has real value. Musk wants to turn it into Facebook+ Cash app

Buying twitter was all in all a terrible business move and mostly to stroke elons ego. Sadly this is "too big to fail" territory

  • Twitter made it one of the most popular social medias, it's been all downhill from X.

It makes sense to pull advertisement you don't want showing up next to nazi content. But now that nazi content is all the rage they won't see as much backlash as when companies pretended to care. They stopped for 2 years without issue.

  • There's no "crawling back like a dog". If Apple had seen a serious hit after leaving and quickly came back, that would be crawling back, but this was 2 years ago. Nothing in this article suggests it either. This is a maga title.

They just started posting a few now, nothing big and nothing says they won't remove them in the future. My guess is right now they are trying not to piss off the dictatorship.

  • Everyone can tell your economic background from your comment. Now youre just making the boomer avocado argument. People should he able to afford amenities and shouldn't have to grind that hard for small things. Our parents and grandparents sure as fuck didnt.

People aren't having trouble making ends meet because theyre buying energy drinks. Thats the view the media wants you to have to you turn your anger towards them. People forget the first country the nazis invaded was their own.

  • Your post glazed over:

    • the time it takes to use the treadmill
    • the time needed for personal stuff at home (banks, bills, maintenance, planning)
    • shower is indeed 30 minutes from picking the clothes to dropping them in the hamper. Thats on days theres no other maintenance,
    • the time to buy the food you want to prep (that's if you didnt spend a considerable amount of time budgeting and couponing on this economy)
    • the time to prep the food you just made, the big enough freezer to store it, the containers and the time to store and organize it.
    • if you have pets, vacuuming regularly is a thing
    • we haven't mentioned anything about friends and family time, nevermind everything that comes with having kids
    • you're forgetting every other human aspect of how doing stuff works, 4 x 2 hour tasks never take 8 hours whatever it is.
    • if you have to get/drop off your car at the shop, plan for holidays, trips, gifts, birthdays, events
    • we're not even getting into working 2 jobs because 1 doesn't pay enough (which is the reality for most).

By your own admission and being generous with the above, we spend more than 80% of our time subsisting, which becomes increasingly more difficult the less money you make. What happens to Saturday shopping and meal prep when your paycheck is monday and you had a big expense that ate up what little savings you had?

You're making the rich man's equivalent argument of "just don't be poor". Even if the numbers aren't exactly as she put it, the point remains the same. This is /r/personalfinance level disillusionment

  • There are independent apps for that where you can link all your accounts.

Others have pointed out the app is for identification which makes sense to have an app to secure the exchange, but a lot of them don't request identification in most cases.
