Yeah, that's a problem with a ton of Android phones. You get one, maybe two major Android version updates and then goodbye. And don't even get me started on security patches, because a lot of these devices have months of delay for them.
Searx is unmaintaned, there is a fork called SearXNG.
Oh, you're right. They have that option and it works, thank you. Though now I wish they had a setting to allow only one specific key. I see it's either function keys/function+whatever you press while holding function key/everything. But then again, I only use 2 applications running in xwayland so it's fine.
Unsolicited nude detected, do you want to drone strike the sender? [YES/NO]

The only thing that's keeping me from Wayland full-time is the push to talk mess. I use Mumble to talk with friends. Under Wayland, to make it work you have to force mumble to run in the xwayland mode and even then, push to talk will only work when you're focused on xwayland windows. Want to look up something on web browser? Cool, now your push to talk button won't register. You have to click on any currently running xwayland application. As I need that push to talk on a regular basis, it's absolutely infuriating.
But not .world or .ml? I got an account in both and I didn’t know those places were disliked until I started getting automatic bans only for being in those instances.
Having to read through the entire lore of lemmy and get informed on all the instances and relationships between them seems like a nightmare. You make an account on one instances then after few days you get told that your instance is literally satan and you should switch to a different one. It's like with Linux distros. No mater which one you pick, you chose wrong.
I'm in the same spot. Even made a Lemmy account just so I can block communities. Then I go to technology/linux/memes communities and guess what? It's american politics all over. And don't even get me started on Reddit, at that point subreddits don't even matter anymore. Even on the subreddit related to my own country in eastern Europe, every day I see a ton of pointless "Trump news". And mods justification is always "it's TOTALLY related to our country because US politics impacts the entire world". Like, what's the point anymore? We might as well talk about Trump and Musk in the plants or lego community.
So while it would be advocating murder, I am not so sure about the “Mass” part.
Oh, that's fine then, my bad!
Well, from what I've seen, they're really bad at boycotting things. They couldn't even handle "reddit blackout" in 2023 and most of redditors came back after a day.
The entire reason that subreddit was closed was due to the post that hit the frontpage with more than 15k upvotes about two days ago and the comments in the thread. Claiming that it was banned for no reason or simply because Musk wished for it is either in bad faith or straight up lying. I saw that thread being made and it was obviously violating Reddit ToS (and the actual law) so hard it should've been instantly deleted. Yet it wasn't.

Yup.
How is "pink mist them all" refering to one guy?
Monster Hunter Rise, Code Vein, State of Decay 2, there were some others but that's all I can remember right now.
There were a lot of highly upvoted actual death threads on the sub. I hate Elon Musk as much as anyone on this websites but if you have a bunch of posts with thousands of upvotes calling for mass murder, it's obvious what's going to happen.
It makes me so mad when I see game on steam feature "online co-op" and in reality the co-op in game is "join your friend and help him sometimes as a guest" Dark Souls style. I swear me and my friend had to refund like 5 games recently just because it turned out all of them had that. Now we just play Valheim while waiting for something good to drop.
I think there’s a good chance that a lot of the knowledge we have today could be lost entirely if civilization collapses to a certain degree just due to how we store it.
We do have some backups.
I got amazon prime mostly for the free games, it's pretty much a steal in my country (if you pay for one year it's about $1 a month) and I still have to pirate things that are available in the prime video. Why? Because I use Linux and amazon won't allow me to play videos in 1080p. Only 480p is available.
MC: looks at a dude
Dude: YOU HAVE DISRESPECTED ME AND MY FAMILY YOU ARE COURTING DEATH
MC: obliterates dude and his entire family (women and children included)
do a bad thing
get caught
oops, it was just an error
repeat
It's fine when we do it!
