Honestly, a Chinese revolutionary suggesting you become a landlord? It does feel like a trap
Up there with "blacks rule"
As always, the money isn't really the point. Like over here where they periodically spend around 10 million AUD cracking down on "dole bludgers" (puke), arguably managing to "save" a few hundred K each time. But it's Money Well Spent, because it stops Those Undeserving Poors from Getting Something They Don't Deserve. Just don't ask about Twiggy Forrest, Clive Palmer, or Gina Rhinehart, who obviously Earned Every Penny. Ultimately, it's about destroying class solidarity, making the less emiserated workers feel like they have more in common with the capitalists than with the poor.
Someone needs to tell these nerds that this is good, actually
Oh look, the torment nexus.
Insert a clever joke about gentoo penguins here
I wouldn't have made it to two without modern medicine so I agree wholeheartedly
I'm sure it behaves differently in aluminium vs steel, too.
But wasn't this one built so the front wouldn't fall off?
(That's gonna send me down a rabbit hole that I don't have time for:p)
https://youtu.be/3m5qxZm_JqM for those unaware. This skit and many others by Clarke and Dawe were based on real incidents.
The induced stresses are part of what can make forged parts stronger iirc (used to work as a designer with a metallurgist as a colleague but, like, many years ago with an intervening drug addiction, recovery, and uni degree so my memory of the technical details is... Imperfect). But yeah it's a complex topic.
Didn't see any propaganda but I did have a sociology lecturer who, every time Marx was mentioned in the textbook or whatever, suggested people should be reading his works, which was cool.
Best news all day tbh
They couldn't just refer to it as the Elon Musk act because it was aimed specifically at him. No, gotta come up with a dumbass fucking acronym. The world superpower, ladies and gentlemen.
...because china is at the very least approaching superpower status and is literally right next door? Their approach to politics really is 100% vibes based...
Oh, absolutely. He sees it himself. Fortunately (a) in Australia it's partly subsidised and the loans are only indexed against inflation, and (b) he's obviously enjoying it. Plus the few units that actually belong in a university are really interesting (but not as you say enough to justify the course being at a uni).
Even between the life sciences and trades. I just finished a BS in biology as a mature student and a close friend is doing his in computer science part time, and the difference in what we have to do... So much of his assessed work can be entirely unsourced because it's literally just coding. He's a clever guy and was given an award for placing in the top 100 students institution-wide last year (~40k students), but I do wonder how many of the other 99 were in similar courses!
Not really, the Nazi salute is the so-called "Roman" salute, which is itself a pretty recent invention. They're the same thing. Like the swastika, it is completely corrupted outside of certain very specific contexts.
I signed up for an account here right as r/CTH was banned, but never really used it. Came back after a few years to post/comment once or twice but it never stuck. I come back now, however many years later, to discover that there is a hexbear-sicko-woke sticker.
I don't know what exactly happened here but I like it.
Video games were a mistake
