From A Man's Perspective by Dax
Released as country, which I find interesting, but this is a damn good project. Hits the spot, especially if you’re going through some relationship problems.

On Doechii's 2024 release, the Tampa-born rapper showcases the blend of clever rhymes with deep, philosophical musings that have punctuated early releases like 2020's Oh the Places You'll Go mixtape and 2022's she / her / black bitch EP. Lead cut "STANKA POOH" finds the Top Dawg Entertainment artist wrestling with her artistic mortality and role as a Black woman in music. She raps: "Let's start the story backwards/I'm dead, she's dead, just another Black Lives Mattered/And if I die today I die a bastard/TikTok rapper, part-time YouTube actor."
Obviously, Doechii aims to be bigger than viral clips and TV shows so small they can fit on your computer screen. On Alligator Bites Never Heal, Doechii asserts herself as one of rap's most impressive bar-for-bar MCs. "DENIAL IS A RIVER" is a classic narrative cut in the style of Slick Rick's "Children's Story," while "NISSAN ALTIMA" is an electro-rap thriller designed to keep the dance floor hot and heart rates up. She sums it up simply enough

I somehow missed this drop. Supposedly their last project together.

New album from Austin, Texas slowcore duo Hovvdy. I love these guys. They're like comfort food for me.

Waxahatchee is back with another great collection of songs similar to her 2020 album Saint Cloud. If you liked that one then you'll like this one.
Yard Act - Where’s My Utopia?

This album is a pleasant surprise for me! Their debut a few years ago was basic post-punk, which I liked, but it wasn't really special. This album takes that post-punk foundation and throws a bunch of other stuff at it and it works for me. Some really interesting stuff going on here. Check it out!
MGMT - Loss of Life

I've liked everything MGMT has done in their career so far and I really appreciate that they do what they want despite the success of their first album.
But my initial impression of this album is that nothing really caught my ear and it's overall unexciting.
However I'll definitely give this a few more listens before completely writing it off since I have trust in these artists and perhaps it's more of a slow burn for me that I'll appreciate later.
