Want to upgrade your F-91W? The open-source Sensor Watch is a board-swap that uses the same display, housing, and wrist-strap but lets you program your own functionality.
Woah, that's cool.
Rolex has spent the last 50 years trying to rebrand itself as a luxury watch brand but they started out as sport watches. Essentially what this Casio watch is.
The people that designed Rolex watches wanted them to be basically indestructible. They're wildly over-engineered. They have shockmounts so you can drop them without breaking the balance staff and most are waterproof.
I lost my Casio watch somewhere in my closet about 3 years ago (I am very lazy).
I still hear it beep every hour.
Maybe today is the day?
place a marker halfway in your closet. every hour stand at the marker and see if the beep is to your left or right. Should be able to find it in <8 attempts.
And if it beeps on the same side no matter which way you're facing, you might be wearing it.
Get what works. Fuck all those dick measuring contests.
Function over form!
I love Casio watches; I’ve got about a hundred of them.
The F91W is most notable for being the cheapest, brand name watch you can buy just about anywhere. Even the poorest dirt farmer can afford to own one. And it has all of the features most people need.
That said, it’s not the best option for us westerners. They are very tiny watches, more suited to a child’s wrist than a grown man. A better option is a Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U. It’s solar powered with atomic timekeeping, meaning it never runs out of power and always has the correct time.
Plus, it’s way more durable compared to an F91W. If I could buy a watch for everyone on the planet, it’d be the 5610.
Nice try, but I could buy ten F91Ws for one 5610. Wouldn't you rather have two watches on each limb AND two watches on your dick than one slightly fancier watch?
The real flex
They are very tiny watches, more suited to a child’s wrist than a grown man
As a grown man with child size wrists good I need more options. Most watches I looked at are huge on me. I got a Seiko 5 which fits well though.
As another man in the tiny wrist club, it's truly heartbreaking to find out that watch that looks so good in pictures looks absurd when you put it on yourself. I really wanted a speedmaster but at least with the metal strap, it's just too big.
F91W is a truly legendary watch though. It's what I use 90% of the time although swapping the factory rubber wrist strap with a NATO strap is a worthwhile upgrade. The clasp on the factory strap really likes to break.
I also actually have a Seiko 5 too, very solid budget friendly automatics. Really big modding community too if you want to get into customization.
Yep, some people really need the smaller size. Personally, I’ve got an 8 inch wrist, and anything smaller than 42mm feels tiny on my wrist. I couldn’t physically wear a F91W as the standard strap is just too short to even fit.
The 5610 is great, but might be a bit pricey for some people.
If you're looking for atomic timekeeping with a cheaper non-G-Shock Casio, try the WV-58A or the beefier WV-200R.
My wife is in the army. This is the watch that soldiers wear; it has every function you need, and absolutely none that you don't, and it's cheap as shit so you can afford it on your crappy military pay. It will not give a flying fuck what kind of abuse you put it through, and in a pinch it will probably stop a bullet.
I have the calculator watch one and absolutely love it. The reaction people have when they notice is priceless.
I like to imagine the rev/fwd buttons on this one is for the time travel function.
Reverse Time / Teleport Forward
Seems pretty close to me!
That one is actually very cool
Do you use the calculator often?
We're still one of those planets that think digital watches are a neat idea.
I mean Garmin watches are pretty awesome
Time is an illusion.
Lunchtime doubly so

I got this watch because it's the preferred watch of terrorists. I like how light it is but the strap did break after not taking it off for a year. I think the oils in my wrist broke it down.
Same, bought one after going around trying to find a suitable Gshock with my mate. Coming across this bad boy and found out that people use this watch for a makeshift time bomb timer and terrorists use it because of how reliable it is.
Casio has a line of ladies watches with floral borders, I wear one as a man and get lots of compliments.
Ooh - do they have one in Hawaiian print?
Edit: Searching for "Casio Hawaiian Print" was fun.
That shirt goes hard, ngl
Dammit why do I love this.
The F91w: The Timepiece of Terrorism.
How did OP drop the watch if they never take that bad boy off?
Maybe OP dropped himself with the watch on
this post reminded me of my old Casio that I forgot on a plane as a kid. left it in those pockets under the tray on the seat in front of you :(
so I've gone ahead and ordered a pink one! :D
Just got my wife a pink one off eBay!
that's a very thoughtful gift. i hope she enjoys it!
Pink is a very good choice of color for that watch. I hope you enjoy it forever.
thank you. men around here always dress like they're in a funeral during these winter months, so I'm trying to break the stigma and add a splash of colour
The amount of compliments I also got from the cheapest watch at a grocery store (also Casio)... I've seen listings for some really expensive ones with the same shape and general appearance but different colors and maybe features. Does anyone know what's up with those?
Casio does variants of the same model with all stainless steel cases/bands for a bit more, but it’s usually the japan exclusive colorways that see prices north of $70 or so. Casios are usually pretty affordable!
They're like $20 bucks now but totally worth the extra cost.
Square Casios are immortal.

I feel like I can't be the only person who had the rubber wrist strap snap after only a few years. It was really annoying because I didn't wear it that much. And a replacement strap cost nearly as much as a new watch.
Yeah, you're definitely not. Those rubber wrist bands/straps gotta be the worst part of these things, regardless of brand.
I couldn't find one in store so the misses bought me one off ebay. It was fake and broke in the ocean.
Watch out. Plenty of fakes of a cheap watch out there.
My favorite watch I've ever owned cost $7.
I have one, they're great.
Hell yeah Casio. I have a G-shock so it's still a "fancy" watch but this thing will probably outlive me
I have a Casio phys that's over 10 years old. Never changed the battery. It tells me the time, day, date, and year! It's waterproof, has a green backlight, and I paid $11 for it. I could afford a more expensive watch, but the phys is the best watch.
Can confirm.
Who has a Casio and knows the model number ?
Every Casio user ever.
~Casio FX-85GT gang
92118515 knows.
OP is someone with eyes for details.
I'm wearing a DW-5600E right now, pleb
It's written directly on the watch, so you see it every time you have a look at it.
Autistic OP
Who doesn't? I have a W-800H. And currently on my wrist is a Seiko 5206-6020
Which Casio is a Seiko 5206-6020 ?
B650WB-1BEF
I just momentarily took mine off to check. GW-2310 here champ.
This guy is jealous because he has a lame Rolex.
I can't afford a Rolex, however I own a Casio GW9400-3
More screen more area to get impacted and break.
I love casio but you're not wrong, it's a tonne of wasted space on an already tiny watch.
