So a couple of months ago I got back from a vacation and everything on my network over WiFi was messed up. I did some investigating and found out in my neighborhood EVERY WiFi network has a hidden ssid on the same channel and close in signal strength. My WiFi network (when I used to have one) was wpa3 and had a password that was around 20-25 characters. And every time I would turn on a WiFi within 2 mins a hidden ssid would appear on the same channel and almost same frequency (sometimes even higher). When I would change channels that hidden ssid would follow to the new channel within 2 mins. Within the router being online within for more than 3 days the router would break. I got a pfsense firewall to replace my WiFi and am currently running temporary ethernet wires. Yesterday I got a low quality netgear router and disabled 2.4 and even only on 5 they are able to see it and attack it (even tho the router is under a table at ground level. I have an old n150 range max (I don’t want to use it because it has a really slow speed) and even with 2.4 enabled they can’t see that (both routers are in the same position. Now that said how could I find out who is doing this and get them to back off and set up a WiFi network that doesn’t go past the walls or yard?
