No, you might be a primitivist, feudalist, syndicalist, or any of many other ways of organizing society. What you adopt will depend on your values and how you perceive the relationship between people and capital. Ultimately the labels are helpful up to a point, because the application of theory, or praxis, will manifest in ways to meet the need of your time.
Just to get ahead of it, capitalist can mean both one who supports capitalism as a way to organize society, and one who owns capital. From context it's clear we mean the former definition.
I get that there are other types of organizations. However I was being a dick and saying that if you aren't for capitalism you are for communism. Obviously they are other choices but just for ease sake.
It's kinda like if you aren't this then by default you are this. Null hypothesis and such. Yada yada
After being told the "right way" to browse Mastodon, I started using hashtags and saw nothing but German and Russian language posts. Whats up with that?
Well yes, but it was chosen because it means marxist-leninist to them, or that is what they used to claim. Now they claim that it was chosen because it was free, as they don't believe in paying for domains, but also fmhy.ml was reclaimed because it was a free domain and lemmy.ml wasn't reclaimed supposedly because they do pay for the "free domain they don't believe in paying for."
No, .ml was chosen because it was a free TLD and Mali government until now did not care about it. .ml TLD also does not look shady unlike other TLDs like .xyz or .zip ones.
Lemmy has a well established name like Mastodon, so it could have been granted an exception, its developers represent Lemmy.ml instance. Small instances, not so much.
True, "pull the wool over your own eyes" as the great guru J. R. "Bob" Dobbs says, however here it is more like "I'm not excepting your wool on my eyes."
You have no proof that the Mali government decided to let lemmy.ml rock simply because it was "big." Lemmy.ml being "big" is even debatable in and of itself, "big" compared to what, Reddit? Twitter? Just smaller lemmy instances? For some reason I doubt that the government in Mali has a stake in what happens to lemmy.ml, what the hell would they care? I doubt one Mali gov employee even has an acct there. Can't be "money" since the pretense is that "the domain is free."
Someone somewhere is lying, whether you ignore it or not, I don't care.
