Uni results day today.

I passed my placement - yay.

HD on my final assignment in one unit - w00t.

Still waiting on the results for the other unit. I dunno why the first 2 released at 9am and this one is taking ages.

Hearty congratulations! My final assignment was submitted very late due to extensions so I don't think I'll get a grade until mid July but it's always a great feeling to get some results back after a round of hard work.

My hatred for my job has almost completely evaporated. This guy has been a nightmare from day 1.

Today, he shoved 2 of the team members because he got frustrated with them.

They came and told me about it and I went to the CEO straight away.

What an absolute piece of shit.

He should be reported to HR, you are absolutely not allowed to lay hands on people like that but the people who got shoved are the ones who need to lodge in the complaint.
- I've got a meeting with them tomorrow morning.

Miniest didn't get an offer from her first choice of high school. I came home to a little girl crying in her bedroom, in bed with the curtains closed. I explained that it's part of the process and probably ed dept policy for every child to be offered a place at a school in their catchment area. We still have an appointment with them later this month.. on the very day appeals must be lodged by. So there's still a (probably slim) chance. But 💔

Oh poor miniest, that’s so hard. It might be worth contacting the preferred school again, and asking if you could get an appointment earlier if the opportunity arises. Slim chance, but worth a try. There might be other kids that decline their spots or something
That's tough news for her. Hopefully the meeting with the preferred school goes well. From my understanding your preferred school can offer a place if they have one available, without having to go through the appeal process.

I'm about to open a container that came from her room that I think has food in it. I think there's something growing in there but I have to save my fork. Pray for me.

Today absolutely frigging dragged on - I really am due for some fieldwork so I can get out in the fresh air again but nothing coming up for a while :c

I might get moving on my plans to be away in August.

I'm so torn between (a) ending my lease and dumping my shit in storage, or (b) just leaving everything at this rental and going away then coming back.

(a) is much, much more cathartic and closer to my heart... but also challenging and stressful in the short term, and more expensive in the short term due to moving. But does give me the option to extend my break or travel while working remotely if I decide to do that

(b) is easier and cheaper in the short term but psychologically I feel like I won't get that satisfaction of closing off the past and moving into a new phase of my life with new aims, habits, etc. coming back to this place could see me falling back into a rut because it's the easy choice. Also will get more expensive if I stay away for longer.

I'm giving myself a week max to sleep on it and decide. At this point I know I'll be away for a month and the rent is 400/week so financially it'll only make more sense to dump into storage maybe if I'm away for three months or more. But it isn't just the finances... I desperately need to shake things up!

Fruits way later and has a hint of habs flavour but not too much and with all the heat. Always found the thais do better in the cold so will be keeping those seeds.

- I think it's easier for her here at home, but she's gone back into 'I need to do domestic chores' mode which might actually not be that bad. I know this might sound bad but I'm leaving small light stuff out for her to put away just so she feels like she's doing something.
  Eating is the hard one but she's getting more down here than in hospital. In hindsight should've disregarded advice to not bring anything in.

There is an excursion on tomorrow as part of this work conference. It's going to be cold and miserable so I simply Will Not Go.

Everyone on the excursion will think I'm at the office. Everyone at the office will think I'm on the excursion. I will stay home and actually get some work done

Soooooooooooooo it turns out all that render i've been bathed in for the past year gots the lead.

Personally being genX i have a fatalistic view of life, raging systemic lead poisoning and zero shits anyway, but husband is losing his mind so off for a blood test i go.

There is such a thing as chelation to reduce lead levels in the blood. Check for compatibility with any current medication though, as it may remove that from the bloodstream too.

Have zero motivation and even less interest in doing work today.

Bosses got on my nerves this morning by giving me another runaround task instead of actually doing what I asked of them (5 min job for them, several hours for me).

Time to stretch those hours into days it seems.

So I've volunteered to spend the night overseeing an unknown number of kids on music camp.

  It might help you to learn about their evolution - they look weird AF and creepy because they come from the sea - I had arachnophobia, and while I still get that initial shock at seeing one, I can rationalise my way out of it now. That's because I basically did a sort of 'exposure therapy' on myself by learning about their evolution, behaviours and biology. The Tarantula subreddit helped immensely - seeing a male lying upside in his wank-blanket (or wanket) is the stupidest looking thing ever 😂

It was pink on the way out of work today, and the clouds caught the light well

Things have been achieved today. I have changed the sheets on the bed. I have organised a rubbish collection for the last of the stuff at my old place. I have changed the date of my upcoming rental inspection. I have cooked soup and have yellow chicken curry on the stove now. The pet's water bowl has been thoroughly cleaned. I have done the vacuuming and just need to do a bit of a mop and clean the sinks etc. and the cleaning to do list should be done. I think I'm even going to have enough time to do a bit more sorting / unpacking.

Cried with frustration at the end of tonight's rebound session. Mostly frustration with myself. Unfortunately the trainer noticed and so everyone noticed. She (and everyone else) was absolutely lovely about it and I know I'll go back, but wahhh.

Trampolines?
- Yeah, mini trampolines! It's really fun but really tough and absolutely kills the lower sides of my legs. Need to come up with some stretches and/or strength exercises for that area. Would have asked the trainer, but ya know, the crying.

Went out with an old friend tonight who reached out and asked me to a game of warewolf (similar to mafia) at a pub in Balaclava. First Tuesday of the month if anyone's keen for a bluffing game with randomly assigned roles. Really friendly bunch of people.

Today bites and I am very ready for it to be done!

A whole week of company conference and I need to present today as well. I'm not nervous about presenting but I'd rather get things done than sit in a room with people explaining, 'if you sell things for more money, you make more money.'

I'm keen to do my tax return but my work hasn't finialsed the income statement for the year yet so I have to wait till they do that then it's pretty much straight forward to get it processed.

I hope they get it done soon as that's the only thing holding me up from doing it.

I need to get onto it today - thought prefill wouldn't be available for a few days but it's all there thankfully. Might even just do it over lunch. I need that tax return 😭
E: ah wait, my old job's income statement is in, but not my current one.
It seems like the ATO doesn't really process these early tax returns until the info is in anyway so probably not much benefit filing it early. Though I'm very confident of the info
- I did a very rough estimate and I'll get something back, nothing mindblowing but it's something.
  I hope they also process it faster than 14 business days as well.
  Let's hope both our income statements are finalised soon!
- All of min will be pre-filled except for a few deductions. I'll give it a week then hit up that next, next, next, tick the authorise box and submit process.

Edit: Coles is absolutely taking the piss on some of their prices. I’m considering getting this weeks load of stuff from Aldi while I have someone with me to help… it still involves prolonged standing while I check ingredients and the general hassle of it. It is much easier to get delivery in the cheap slots.
