Egypt said on Monday that Israel was not cooperating with delivery of aid into Gaza and evacuations of foreign passport holders via the only entry it does not wholly control, leaving hundreds of tonnes of supplies stuck.
Turns out that the people that turned off food water and power in order to collectively punishing an ethnic population is not very interested in helping the people that they are punishing.
the real enemies of this war are not the Jews or the Israelis or the Palestinians. It's those people who have decided that violence is the only answer.
Cairo says the Rafah crossing, a potentially vital opening for desperately-needed supplies into the Israeli-besieged Palestinian enclave, is not officially closed but is inoperable due to Israeli air strikes on the Gaza side.
As Israel's bombardment and siege of Gaza has intensified, the territory's 2.3 million residents have been left without power, pushing health and water services to the brink of collapse, with fuel for hospital generators running low.
"There is an urgent need to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza," Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told reporters, adding that talks with Israel had not been fruitful.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced within Gaza, with some taking cars and suitcases south towards the Rafah crossing but others heading back north after failing to find refuge.
Like others, Egypt has spoken out against any mass exodus of Gaza residents, reflecting deep Arab fears that the latest war could spark a new wave of permanent displacement for Palestinians from lands where they have sought to build a state.

The “hostages” you are talking about are people who murdered or were involved in murder in Israel. They had a fair trial, they have visits, food, medical treatment, family visitation, red cross visitation, studies, books, tvs. And much more.
They are not children and are not mothers with children. Their families know exactly where they are and what their situation is.
Totally different thing.
And your comparison as if these two things are on the same scale is totally appaling
The authors of this unbelievably lazy piece of journalism are all you need to look at to know why this article includes only quotes from a Hamas radio station and some random civilian on the ground to explain why the border crossing is not operational... Why Reuters would willingly publish such drivel is just beyond me
Did you read the article? It makes claims about "Cairo" and "Egypt" saying something, never actually quoting any entity from the Egyptian government on the reason the pass is not operational. The foreign minister says merely that there is "an urgent need", whatever the hell that means. The writers very conveniently leave out any reliable quotations for the single most contentious part of the entire piece. If anybody credible actually believed that Israel bombed this crossing, the authors would have no trouble finding a quote saying so.
Huh... joined four months ago, and this is your one and only post.
