some bands are re-releaseing remastered albums, could be in transition
It's interesting. My CD is still there, and the tracks I ripped to my computer are still there, it must be a Spotify problem
Same I just use spotify to find and browse for other artists and songs.
In the 2010s I used to do youtube to MP3. But the youtube recommendations have been dog shit. So I use spotify to look for the obscure different music.
Oh no! Streaming being an awful mess? There are solutions for that :)
I only stream so that I can find new music. I'm not savy to find out other means. I have the album copied personally I just thought it was weird it was off a streaming platform
Yeah I get that, I've been there. Its quite comfortable to use Spotify to get recommendations based on your played music. But there has been a solution before Spotify has been a thing: Scrobbling (as popularised by Last.fm) your Music.
Be it via last.fm and plugins to your music player or a different service like Listenbrainz all together.
I concede though that this process is a bit more involved.
And yes I agree with you, it's weird.
I'd advise to pirate and selfhost, spotify barely pays the artists any money anyway

Always about freakin money
And as a result, people will find that album someplace that doesn't cost any money.
🤔
Very strange for a label to pull an album like that. I wonder if there's something special about the IP rights for this particular album, since the rest appear to be staying up.
It's also unavailable on Deezer. I checked the other albums and their first album is also unavailable except the songs War and Suite-Pee.
If you download symphony on your phone and put the mp3 there no one will remove it but you. Music streaming is designed to rob us of ownership. Though it is dope to find new tracks with.
Glad I switched to selfhosted Jellyfin for music. It not the only album that was removed through my 5 year of using spotify. Pain in the ass to download everything but worth it.
It's streaming on Pandora. I suspect the issue has more to do with Spotify than Spotify lets on in this press release
The kombucha mushroom people.
