As a child of the 90s we grew up with PC Political Correctness. Is that WOKE but just in a different form?

Exactly... It's usually boomers/gen x'ers these days, but whenever I hear someone complain about something being "PC," it's an immediate red flag. 99.9% of the time it means the person is just an asshole and can't recognize it.
They're related but not the same. Political correctness is about taking steps not to offend anyone. Wokeism is more about acknowledging societal issues and lack of inclusivity.

I think that "woke" (as it used now by right wing mouth breathers) is a combination of "PC" and "satanic". Because from what I remember in my childhood, "satanic" was the word of choice for right wingers to use when they didn't like something. "PC" was used in an insulting way by certain people but it was far more popular at the time to just accuse anything they didn't like of being devil worship.
"Woke" is the exact same shit as that. Just repackaged so that edgelord teenagers also think it's cool to call everything "woke". And instead of the devil, it's the LGBTQ+ community, which is probably the same thing to them anyway. But it's all spear headed by the same fucking people or types of people, along with their legion of useful idiots this time.
Basically it is the trendy word to say, "This thing does not align to my narrow world view and is therefore bad and wrong."

Every few years they change up the terminology. After PC it became SJW. Then it became CRT. Then woke. Now it's transitioning to DEI. In a few years they'll change to a new term.

The reason this insult has such staying power is because it's apt. Reactionaries are correct when they say liberals by in large don't really care about minorities or the disadvantaged, they just use them for political power.

As others have noted, the original definitions and origins were different. However, both terms came to be appropriated by right wing politics to mean (generously) "too liberal" or (more realistically) "associated with non-white people and/or women".
Political correctness is what racists think being woke is, which is why they're angry.
When right wingers use terms like PC, woke, DEI, CRT, and so on, it's a dog whistle (really a fog horn) that means "anyone who isn't a white cishet Christian man"

It's political correctness expanded to also care about how people talk about gender issues and such. That's all. And it's so hilarious to see people feel threatened by such an inoffensive idea as 'maybe respect people and how they want to be addressed or referred to.'

Oh I know this! When I was in middle school I had a weekly calendar that I had to fill out what I did for each class that day and write down future events like field trips etc. that was literally called our "agenda".

I think the idea is that someome wants to avoid being "cancelled" after they've been exposed for for abusing social trust and norms of behaviour - usually to their own benefit.
So they denigrate or attack anyone exposing their shitty behaviour or anything similar. If they can do this they can contine to be cunts to society and avoid being ostracised by it.
But once they can get away with it, one can systematically exploit social trust and norms repeatedly, and presumably grow the power and influnce of their subculture. Even at the cost of overall the weath of the encompassing society - it won't matter to the dicks so long as they can extort a bigger share of the smaller pie.
Polite society will unfortunately struggle to effectively ostracise the people who do this because they're (rightly) worried about due process, accountability, fairness, and miscarriages of justice.
