Hope they also rethink some of the ux after this. Some of the decisions, like hiding search inside "latest" tab were not great.
- Absolutely!! Who came up with that idea. It should be a top level button not placed in ANY tab. And "latest"? That sounds like "featured apps that you might like if you are not looking for something specific". Why would I go there if I "am looking for something specific".

This is a much needed update. While I like the functionality of F-Droid, the UI is unappealing.
- Agreed, this is great news!
- What's so different between 1.22 and 1.23 though? I just updated my client to 1.23 because of this post and I see very little difference.
  
  There is in-app changelog (URL link?), I am assuming this update is not related to the new design.

The heck is going on with the Material 3?
Borders are nearly invisible. We are evolving but backwards.
- UI designers hate usability anymore. Is it text? A link? A button? Who knows? Tap and find out you just subscribed to Satan-of-the-month club.
  
  TBF, I'd be happy to join the Satan Monthly Digest 🤘👹 But give it some f—ng contrast instead of all those wishy-washy pastels.
- Once you invite designers into your software you can't get rid of them.
- I know! Don't get me started on the "adaptable" colour schemes that make any colour look beige... I was fine with the previous material design, TBH.

SMH, the screenshots shown in the blog post look exactly as my F-droid install (only light mode).

I usually use NeoStore, but I dont love it either so I guess I will give f-droid a try again.
