  • Why would someone of any age instantly cling to the narrative that people over 60 instantly clung to the narrative that everything on the internet is likely AI? Or believe that all or most people in any particular age group think the same way? Basing a belief around a set of people based on their age or gender or race is lazy thinking and any conclusions based on that will likely be wrong.

  • Outside of discussions about the Dead Internet Theory I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone express this.

    • I've definitely felt it in the past 5÷ years, even if it isn't talked about much. I've been adding 'reddit' to my searches to avoid that endless sea of identically formatted articles that are clearly created by ai to maximize traffic, many science youtube videos are just obviously low-effort ai slop.

  • Obviously because everyone outside of your particular generation is a hivemind that shares a single un-nuanced thought on every topic.
