Rain on thick canopy is nice.
The low end range of a filtered square wave from a Moog model d
A man of culture
Rain on a metal roof. Heavy is best. Drowns out the world
We just adopted a second cat to keep our first (supposedly cat hating) cat company. My new favorite sound is the pitter patter of their little paws as they play together every single morning and evening.
My dog makes this whistle noise and also a meow noise when it's morning and it's time to start the day, when he's just happy to be awake and walking.
Bird chirping is pretty high on the list! Cats purrring is also way up there, floowedd by raindrops, winds tooling and campfires!
Wind through the poplar tree leaves.
My cat making what I call his “wretched meow” like he is the tiniest baby cat left out in the cold and needs cuddles right now.
Also, the sound of my neighbors’ kids playing outside is the sweetest thing.
Silence.
That ultra thin whistle
Hello darkness my old friend.
Light rain on the sides of a tent
Yup yup. This is perfect. Sends me right to sleep.
A Cat's Mrrp (Its sound like a half Meow, half Purr)
A trill?
I know a cat who does a sorta chirpy purr and sends himself into a coughing fit doing it sometimes, it's one of my favorite sounds
For me it's not a single sound. It's a combination.
A nice breeze rustling the leaves of trees or blades of grass in a field and the sounds of birds chirping in the distance.
Things that, ironically, enhance silence.
Similarly, my wife mumbling in her sleep punctuating the silence of reading quietly to myself
My cat, purring.
When my cats purr.
My tinnitus, I listen to it all day.
WHAT?? CAN YOU SPEAK UP?
The ocean waves
Crackling fire.
My windchimes.
THX intro
The sound skis make as they carve through the snow.
Whale songs
Silence, rain drops, crackling fire, a certain type of bird chirping outside (I'm not sure what kind of bird it is, maybe a Robin)
Many have said things that are more immersive sounds or almost soundscapes like rain on roof, but I have a clear favourite short and snappy sound and that is the sound of when a basketball goes clean through the hoop without touching the rim, the so called swish.
Nothin' but net. It is a very nice sound.
If the ball doesn't make a swoosh sound when it goes in then it shouldn't count for any points.
A dog sniffing, snorting, or snoring.
The sound of an English country garden on a Sunday in summer.
This is a composite of several sounds all of which must be quiet or distant enough to not be a distraction but which in conjunction are glorious:
I went to an isolation float tank once where you get to choose the sounds/music you hear at the beginning and end of the session. I chose "Alpine meadows" that had bees buzzing, light wind moving in trees and grass and little bells chiming and it was my favourite part of the experience, I could have listened to that the whole hour. What you described is very similar and would make a great soundscape for situations like that!
Rain when I go to sleep.
Dog yawns
Rain falling on a glassy smooth lake.
The wind through a casurina tree.
(Especially whilst sitting in their shade on a 40C degree day)
Rain on the roof
Church bells.
Birds singing, bugs buzzing, and leaves rustling in the morning…
Can't get much better then a squeaky pop from hydrogen.
So many, but this is one is a reoccurring earworm for me. Nirvana’ Heart Shaped Box guitar solo when switching pedals/amp surge at roughly 2:58. THX wishes they got that. It’s depravation & surge is the best way.
Peeps have mentioned the light rain on a tent, I'll one up by adding a thunderstorm in the distance.
Children playing in the distance. It brings me back to happy, simpler times.
I replaced the starter motor in my 22 year old Chevy Malibu (twice, actually) and the newest one is so strong it makes a little whine every time it goes. It's hard to describe but it's especially satisfying in the winter when it's -15°F and most vehicles are slow to start and this old girl fires up with zero hesitation.

Apart from my heartbeat?
The wind softly breezing through the trees on a beautiful night with a full moon while taking a stroll through a forrest.
