Are there any non-edgy ways to display a sword

Are there any non-edgy ways to display a wooden sword?

My dad died from COVID a few years back and I got a bunch of his stuff, in it was this wooden japanese sword thing, which looks kinda like this one. I think he was really into Kendo as a kid.

I don't want to get rid of it as it's one of the few things I have from him, but at the moment it's just sitting propped up in a corner of my home office. I'd like to put it on the wall or something, but also I don't want to be one of those guys who mounts a japanese sword on the wall as that veers into edgelord territory.

So, does anyone know of a non-edgy way of displaying a (wooden) sword?

Comrade it’s a rounded wood sword, it can’t be edgy.
For real, put it on a plaque. It’s your home, it’s your mementos. Traditional Japanese armament displays weren’t to be edgy or flex on guests, it was honoring the heirlooms in a practical way.

I think it's edgy in your mind only. Stop worrying what others will think about it. For you, it's important to honor your dad. If anybody wants to judge you over that, fuck them. Find a way to display it that is both convenient and aesthetically pleasing for you, and you feel it's a good tribute to your father.
Some ideas:
Mount it on a wall and place a picture of your dad around it
Place it on a stand, on a desk, if you have the space for it. Can also place a picture of your dad next to it.
Place it over your door.
Hang or place it on a mantle
Use it as a centerpiece for a display with other personal items of your dad

It's your house; it's your father. Celebrate his memory however it feels right for you. I really doubt anyone coming into your home will confuse you for a Mall Ninja.

You could try framing it, maybe with a picture of your dad doing kendo or just you two together. There are places that do custom framing and will put it all together ready to hang on your wall. The sentimental additions to the case the sword ends up in should take all the edginess away.

Probably not helpful but my dad kept umbrellas, walking sticks and swords (not sharp) in the same cylindrical stand. This only covers the non-edgy aspect though.
- It could give ideas though. Maybe OP can display the sword horizontally on a stand, and display an umbrella above or under it in the same way. Should balance the edgyness

Do people really think a piece of athletic equipment is edgy? I trained in an armed Japanese style for many years up until the pandemic began. It's just weird to think people might own these things hoping to look badass instead of to train with it - I thought the former preferred stainless steel swords shaped like early-aughts tribal tattoos or whatever

I would only start to worry about looking like an edgelord/weeb/mall ninja with an actual metal sword. No one on the planet is going to get that idea from a bit of Kendo equipment. People might be confused why it's there, especially if you don't do Kendo, but just explain it to them if they ask. Or don't.
At some point, it's your house. Life has enough arbitrary bullshit to offer without worrying about things like this. Just hang it wherever you want, however you want. Act like you're the only person in the world when you do it.

Just hang it up. It's not like it's some "mall ninja" shit. Just hang it up somewhere like a random display piece and don't worry about it. Ain't no one gonna care and if they do, then... fuck em. It's your wooden sword and your wall.

Mount it above the front door inside your home. Then it isn't "edgy" its practical. Its like your dad is there protecting the entry to your home.

didn't have any katanas though

Wdym an edgy way? How is displaying or having a sword edgy?
Anyway however you want/it suits you and honor your dad, there isn't only one right way of displaying it.
