I'd seen the headlines, but most — like TPM's — haven't included the name Brent Bozell. He's quite reprehensible, even by Trump standards. Young folks might need an introduction.

Of course he does. The president literally benefitted directly from Apartheid and feels personally attacked by the reforms around it.

This dude isn't just White, he's translucent. Light passes through his epidermis, reflects from his dermis, and we're literally seeing inside his body. That pink we see is his meat showing through.

Didn't most Republicans at the time oppose Mandela and support apartheid? That is the way I remember it.

If anyone would have asked "what type of person did Trump appoint to be the South African ambassador, 10 of 10 Lemmy users would have said "some guy who tried to stop the fight against apartheid"

The other day I saw an interview with a sociopath (with a PhD in psychology) who said that doing things she explicitly wasn't supposed to do brought her relief from her inner tension. Most of Trump's political appointments remind me of this. It's like he's doing this shit for the sole reason that everybody keeps telling him not to.
