Godot 4.4 has officially released!
Look forward to plenty of quality of life improvements hidden within this release. Faster load speeds, reduced stutter, streamlined processes - spotting all the optimizations that have been applied in the background will take some time.
I hope it doesn't break too much older code.
The painful part will be when the 4.5 alpha starts shortly and includes a bunch of cool features that didn't make the release window for 4.4. Do I stick with stability, or ride the unstable wave of cutting-edge?

Holy shit, sooo many game changing(hehe) things in there. Persistent file paths, 3D physics interpolation, window placement restoring, shading improvements, new experimental physics engine. I love godot so much.

Being able to run the editor on VR headsets while doing development is a crazy gamechanger for those platforms. If you pair a keyboard and mouse it really does turn it into a real computing platform that lets you develop new apps on device.

Sounds like a competition patch.
