I used to hate onion but then my brain matter corrected itself
I mean maybe? Valve are pretty big on immutability and atomic upgrades which should make the package update process easier. hopefully arch is able to move towards immutability too.
ever since steam machines, valve has been investing more and more into the Linux desktop. They can see the writing on the wall for its Storefront if they don't make Linux a viable alternative.
Microsoft is going hard into locking down the OS against alternative storefronts such as Steam. If you buy any budget windows laptop in 2024 it'll be loaded with Windows in "S" mode which blocks installing anything outside of the Microsoft app store unless you manually fiddle with the settings; it's marketed as a "safety" feature but it's really just a way to force people into their ecosystem.
If valve wants to keep making big bucks from its videogame storefront (at least until antitrust lawsuits build ground) they need to have Linux ready to take up the slack.

I'm a flutter dev, and I've seen testimonies from a former Windows 98 dev about limiting the number of redraws in the shell.
There's deffo extra overhead, but it's not linear - 4k being 4 times as many pixels as 1080p doesn't mean 4k the work to render after the first frame, as the browser/framework will cache certain layout elements.
The initial layout is still expensive, though, so big tables will take longer, but that big table at high Res will probably be less chuggy when scrolling once loaded.
Israel has blown its cover, didn't have the forces to dedicate to a ground assault, and is now floundering as Hezbollah drains the IDF of air defence and funding at record pace.
The pager attacks would've made a ground assault marginally easier, but like in 2006 any ground troops will be over reliant on air support which won't be able to penetrate Hezbollah's tunnel network. Meanwhile Iran is definitely fast tracking heavy munitions to Lebanon and about to move AShMs to Yemen.
The Israeli Semen Extraction Forces are going to be working overtime for the next few years.
Well they're right to be concerned. What if China secretly embeds the minerals with small remote explosives and detonates them amongst civilians?
star citizen Devs in September 2024: wow! the best year ever
star citizen Devs in September 2001: they've hit the second tower?
The US is a weird beast. Regularly acts with impunity and decimated thousands of lives with no internal OR external accountability, but at the same time reliant on weird politicking to keep the killing going else some weird technicality will accidentally force them to make the world less shitty.
I guess it's more niche.
Sure SUSE may not "need" a fork, but most forks of Debian and Ubuntu aren't changing much beyond a few superficial settings - If you need your "own" distro you're more likely to pick the bigger distros to fork and slap your own badge on á la TuxedoOS, PopOS, GnomeOS, KDE-Neon, etc.
rarbg mirrors are simply rehosting the database. You were even able to download and self host it for a while. Not sure if the tracker is able to accept new torrents though, I'm not really knowledgeable on how trackers work
We need colour! light themes aren't meant to blind us!

Classic video from 2018 by @NeighborDemocracy. Not sure how the material conditions have changed since then, though this was shortly after the invasion of Afrin canton by Turkish forces.
If youve used Prowlarr, you might have experienced cloudflare blocking access to certain trackers.
There's a docker-based solution called cloudsolverr which automatically bypasses these cloudflare challenges by spinning up a headless chromium browser.
Main issue is it's heavy on resources (I have an rpi4b) and doesn't have an easy native setup (I've not had time to practice with docker stuff yet).
Is there a manual way for me to resolve these cloudflare challenges so I can add the trackers? It's mainly for public shit like 1337x just to fill out my access to TV shows where my other trackers fail or get rate-limited.
