Thinking about the Icy Hot Stuntaz
the 2000s chrome rims put the cherry on top
the early 2000s were a real cultural moment on the US internet. you couldn't just make and upload video clips because a thought half entered your mind while you were driving to get a drive through caffeinated milkshake. photos were the best you could do on dialup. if you were inspired to represent yourself visually it required a photo essay: a series of representative, isolated moments in time, a curated and cut diamond that could be smuggled anywhere.
what do kids today even know about straight ballin'? or the Mitsubishi Eclipse? all they know is rizz, skibidi, and reaction videos to rizz/skibidi/dance videos. these are all ephemeral artifacts, like babbling brooks disappearing into a vast, noisy ocean.
the icy hot stuntaz will live forever.
Nostalgic for this era of the internet.
Me, I'm thinking about the glow-up of Mr. Cool ICE
