Shock new theory about Easter Island heads could rewrite history of iconic human-like statues
In his new Netflix series, Graham Hancock suggested that the Easter Island heads were built by his long-lost ancient civilization. But archaeologists have disagreed.

Most theories of this nature are, but I thought it was interesting.
He has intriguing theories, and I do enjoy the series, but it should be noted that a lot of his theories have weak or non-existing support outside of his fan circle.

Hancock also proposes that the statues on Easter Island are likely much older than the platforms—called Ahu Vinapu—on which many of them sit, pointing out that the two feature different construction techniques.
