The trading ecosystem in online games is so crazy. My brother learned to barter from playing Warframe, now he can do it IRL at flea markets and whatnot.
It is. And some people even make real money off the trading. Like I have a theory that the best players aren't the streamers but the people that sell currency or items for real money.
I learned bartering from EQ in like 2000 or something, lol. Besides using software to autocraft, you can easily sit around just playing the market in PoE1, getting far far richer than playing.
repetitive strain injury - i was getting constant wrist and hand pain for a while cos of all the clicking, i had to take a break to give my hand time to recover
They're working on allowing seamless switching between controller and keyboard so that will make the worst part of controller, inventory management, a lot better. But you need to play aoe builds on controller. Can't target shit with controller. Luckily that doesn't matter on bosses.
Mark says that maps are expected to be 30% more rewarding.
They talk about a dynamic between "large maps" and "small maps", saying players should learn to utilize map size for rewards.
Mark mentions fixing the levers of Augury.
They don't plan to increase waystone drop rate.
Mark wants to add improvements to Expedition crafting system.
Jonathan confirms that the corpse tower/citadel conspiracy theory is not real. Everyone laughs about this.
Jonathan says citadels only spawn at a certain base distance from the starting location on the atlas
The devs says that they are surprised that players were able to make builds with such high damage. Weird thing to be surprised by.
Jonathan says that they have no plans to nerf player builds without a game economy reset. Mark says player builds may be nerfed if they affect server performance, example if your build reduces the server to 1 fps.
Jonathan confirms that Early Access will have Leagues, ie Seasons.
There were rumors that Path of Exile servers were hacked. Jonathan says that an administrator account on the Path of Exile website was found to be compromised through the Steam api. Jonathan says that 66 player accounts are suspected to have been compromised by the hack. There will be more information later, but he says there was no larger data breach.
Jonathan and Mark say that they do not want to decrease the power of the Item Rarity stat. They confirm that Item Rarity increases the tier of currency items in POE 2, while in POE 1 Item rarity only increased the chance to find rare or unique gear items. This makes Item Rarity a much more powerful stat in POE 2.
There's talks about buffs to the warrior class, but it is unclear to me.
Jonathan mentions the possibility of reducing the number of monsters in the Breach mechanic in the future. They also mentioned improving the spawn rate of Greater Essences.
Jonathan does not want to remove the 1 death per map limit. He says that 6 portal defense is too forgiving to players.
They talk about increasing the difficulty of Pinnacle Bosses.
"Map tab soon"
Predictive mode will be available in the game settings later. The game currently operates in Lockstep mode.
Spectre minion is being worked on and introduced soon.
Mark says that maps are expected to be 30% more rewarding.
Without increasing stones drops? That's crazy, you can put every map perk point in more waystones drops and they still don't drop enough. Though if bosses are to appear in 1/4th maps it might help.
Mark wants to add improvements to Expedition crafting system.
To expedition what? Calling it "crafting" is an insult to crafting in every similar game. Also they should first make expedition vendors to actually refresh sometimes instead of using very rare currency to do it.
Jonathan does not want to remove the 1 death per map limit. He says that 6 portal defense is too forgiving to players.
Fuck the fucker, this is so petty and shitty change comparing to PoE1, PoE2 was supposed to be better than PoE1, not worse.
They talk about increasing the difficulty of Pinnacle Bosses.
Motherfuckers
The devs says that they are surprised that players were able to make builds with such high damage. Weird thing to be surprised by.
I said that day 1, you don't get systems so complicated that even their creators cannot predict it and hope millions of people playing won't minmax it to the hell. Problem is, for anyone not minmaxing the game is super harsh and they are making it worse with petty shit like the two points above, so they are gonna only see meta builds and this is already happening.
Jonathan says that they have no plans to nerf player builds without a game economy reset. Mark says player builds may be nerfed if they affect server performance, example if your build reduces the server to 1 fps.
They already casually nerfed many builds before holidays, and the server crashing allegedly already happened with builds like mass fireball sorcerer.
And no word about improving their fucked up trade system. Holy shit this game did one thing awesomely and tanked most of others and it's all by the design choice.
Not super big changes but pretty nice all around. I've been having fun with it but I do feel like they should've delayed the early access a little more, the game will probably be in a much better state around the first league reset.
