Northern Ireland

This being to the south of all other Irelands makes me unreasonably vexed.
- It's like the difference between "Upper" & "Lower" Egypt.
- It's because the Republic of Ireland and the DPRK both stood defiant from imperialism.

I think the thinking in calling China the EU is that like the EU backs up/protects Ireland in treaty negotiations over Brexit with the UK, China backs up/protects the DPRK.
Are the Ryukyu Islands equivalent to the Channel Islands, then?
