More videogame devs should reuse assets from game to game, it decreases workload and crunch and I love seeing the old door opening animation every time
- Absolutely. The Yakuza/Judgement/Like a Dragon games reuse maps and animations like TV shows reuse sets and locations and there is nothing wrong with this.
  
  Persona's core mechanics, arcana design, character animations etc too. Sega and other Japaneese developed/published stuff do this a lot and it doesn't hurt the games when the core of them is solid and they have style.
- Remember when half life one was just an engine you used to make your good game with? This is what gaming will be after the revolution

All things that I don't personally like are capeshit slop, all things that I do like are unique artful masterpieces that can broach no criticism.
Anyway, this looks kinda cool, but I'm mostly just waiting for their mage-heavy game that they've had cooking in development for a few years. Or for Sony to get off their asses and port Bloodborne to PC so I have a panic attack against Father Gascoigne again, but this time in a crisp 144 FPS.
- i kinda still think bloodborne port is never happening and it would for sure be locked to 60 anyway lol. the good news is it will be playable at 120 on an emulator before too long!
  
  My slight-copium guess is that they're holding off to have it as a launch title for the PS6, but it's also possible they just lost all the original source code and would have to decompile the existing game to even build a starting point to remaster it.
  
  I heard somewhere that they lost or didn't bother to keep the original files, so to port it they'd have to... I don't quite know, decompile? ...everything out of playstation standards and into something more generic computers can read.
- I want an AC6 expansion/followup.
  
  Having one or more standalone spinoff after each numbered entry is kinda tradition at this point so I'd assume it's coming eventually. Elden Ring just sold better so it gets to go first.
  
  AC6 was so good. Loved repeatedly owning that one pilot who kept coming back. Didn't realise he did come back until my second playthrough.

Maybe I just don't know enough about Elden Ring but this reads like a borderline BMF post to me

  i had to rebind the keys in caves of qud to this lol. using shift+arrow keys for diagonal just did not work with my brain
- okay maybe i finally like fromsoft
- Souls games always have fun coop so I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in a game focused on it

I’m actually really hyped for Elden Ring Roguelike Anime Coop Edition.

If anything it would be cool to be able to play a full on coop with my friends. I'll wait and see for more details but I like it.

I mean they fucking copied a regular boss of the main game as a DLC boss in Elden Ring, let alone a game where they can justify their blatant laziness. I'm moreso making fun of the delulu git gud fanboys who defend their laziness with bs excuses such as lore.
  
  I don't really have a problem with things being re-used, and calling game developers "lazy" is such a tired cliche. Making software is hard.
  
  i don't see the problem, monster hunter reuses like 70% of its boss fights every single game, and this is supposed to be a monster hunter-like spinoff judging from the info they shared

It’s a co-op roguelite spinoff side project by aspiring devs at From, not a Miyazaki project.
We used to have these filler spinoff games back in the PS2 era. It’s not that serious.

I'll still play it, the best part about dark souls is how it is basically a universe defined by dementia. Everything repeats.

You know how in ever shitty anime there is a game that everyone plays and it sucks but it is just a given that it is part of life? Fromsoft bout to put us on a new timeline

  I don't think it's bad at all, I probably don't notice it when it happens.
  A great example of good asset reuse are the 7 SMT games atlus made for the PS2 which all reused demon assets

Man am I glad that even in my ever more bitter and pessimistic ways I was able to enjoy the fantastic Elden Ring and it's DLC. Not so sure about this one though, I always liked that these games weren't grinding games and you were basically done after fighting every boss once (dark souls 2 letting you respawn bosses was already too much if you ask me), but it might be fun with friends

It's just a spinoff. Unless they are planning to charge 70 bucks for this, it's fine.

Here's the defence: It's a fun game and I like it. I like what they did last time, so I believe I'll enjoy what they do this time. I don't mind reused assets if the game itself is good. I am not a single-issue gamer. There is nothing to defend yet though, since there is nothing to play.

Kinda sad that the side project is a battleroyale + roguelike game, their last side project is the masterpiece called Sekiro...
- Sekiro wasn't a side project, considering it was directed by Miyazaki and a full price release which this isn't and won't be
