Best drip coffee maker for a cheap(ish) price?

So I finally have a chance to buy a new one after making cowboy coffee for like 3 years. Wondering what's good out there? My last one was a mr. coffee and it barely made it a year, I think it was defective. I'm looking somewhere in the $20-$30 range.

You can get a solid french press at that price. Just as easy to use, easier to clean with no filters, and the coffee isn't as burned. That one requires paper filters but it's the cleanest coffee you'll ever drink. I loved my aeropress.
- I work in coffee and I'm pretty lazy at home with a drip machine. I reserve my various other methods for if I get my hands on something different. Personally I think French press can be messy if you don't have a solid compost pile at your disposal.
  
  I usually make 1-2 pots per day. My vermicomposter isn't operational right now so I use the grounds as a gentle general fertiliser. My houseplants each get a pot-full around once per month. The rest I throw out to my roses, trees, and lawn.

I have a cheap as black and decker that I got for 25ish at Walmart about five years ago. It’s been resurrected a few times, I’ve scavenged the heat element out of others I’ve found roadside, and the carafe is from a Ninja, but it fits perfect and even makes the pause feature on the drip end work properly. The pot warmer no longer functions but the ninja carafe is double insulated so it wouldn’t warm it anyway. It’s more a coffee maker of Theseus at this point but I’m gonna drive this hoor until the wheels fall off it then go back with another 25 dollar cheapie from wherever. Idgaf. Im after that sweet sweet caffeine buzz.

I’ve had a cheap black and decker one for a few years. The heating thing that keeps the pot hot kinda sucks but since I’m only making coffee for me 99% of the time i just put enough grounds and water for 1 cup and have it drip straight into my spongebob (our national hero) mug

Buy an electric kettle (like $20-30 or something) Buy instant coffee ???? Cheap coffee, zero mess. And it tastes the same.
One of the only good habits I ever picked up from bruvs is using a kettle (or ket'le as they say... gotta drop that t...) to quickly boil water for tea or coffee.
(And to be clear because they aren't thst popular in the US: I'm talking about wall plug-in kettles that have a glass container on the top for water with a base that hears the top very quickly. Not the kind you use on a stove which is the usual meaning of kettle in the US. Although that would work too, but less efficient unless you have a fancy stovetop)
- Kettles are awesome. If you can get one that lets you choose the temperature go for it

The Mr. Coffee is the undisputed king of that price point. Hands down the best cup for that price.

the real answer is check Goodwill and other local thrift stores first, there tend to be a lot of coffee makers there for cheap and most places will have return policies so if it's broken you can just bring it back

A single cup filter cone is like $5 with the downside that you have to boil your own water. But whatever you decide on, consider a reusable filter. Should be around $10, pays for itself in what you save on paper filters.

I really like my moka pot, it’s great because you can make espresso and coffee drinks with it. Basically for coffee just make a shot and add hot water to it and for other espresso drinks you can use one of the coil frothers.

  Ah I see, I will defer to those who know more then; I think the last drip coffee pot I had as a mr coffee. I can say that they’re going to be more or less the same; one thing you could do is buy a grinder and grind your own beans and that will make the coffee more flavorful no matter what you get

I have one of these suckers. It costs like fifty bucks and I've had mine for like four years and it still works good
