The cowards ranked NIU!
But a lot of these seem suspect given the results yesterday. How do OK St and KSU move up? Related, why did Tulane stop receiving votes, especially since they pushed KSU around most of the game? Notre Dame doesn't fall farther (or out completely)? Alabama doesn't slide a little for messing around with USF (the final score does not tell the story of how that game went)?
And I feel like there's not enough credit given to Nebraska (who took it easy on CU), Clemson (shouldn't be punished too much for falling to #1 UGA), and Illinois (who beat a pretty good Kansas squad).
Voters just peeping the box score and relying on name brands, as is tradition
- Ssssh, don't talk about Nebraska looking good this season lest the curse start paying attention to us again after finally being drawn away by Colorado.
  Ideal state: we stay off the rankings list until, surprise! We're playing for Big 10 championship!
- OK State I get because they bet an SEC school. I'm most shocked that TAMU is still getting votes.
- I think early rankings need to have rankings amnesia. They're not moving up or down. It's just a fresh list based off of new info. Rankings are based on very little information and we now have 100% more data for most of these teams.
  Arkansas, for example, had a perfect game against an extremely weak opponent. They weren't unranked because they were bad. I think their game with OKSt just validated that Arkansas is pretty good (but now they have a loss). Also, two of the teams they jumped (Michigan and Notre Dame) lost games. So I think jumping at least 2 was warranted.

As an ND fan it's a joke we're still ranked.
- And the number one team in the SEC by conference wins is not ranked.
  
  That Kentucky game was awesome, but we need more than 1 good game to make the rankings.

It's amazing that you can get blown out at home in week two and still be ranked. What on Earth have they earned or proven that shows they get to stay ranked?
