How did egg coffee become a Minnesota tradition?
This smooth brew was a common offering around the state before the proliferation of modern coffee machines. You can still find it, if you know where to look.
Between this and the Bulletproof craze a few years ago we can almost get a whole breakfast in one cup!
What is the Bulletproof in a cup craze?
Butter and coconut oil in coffee.
Coffee with butter in it, and often cocoa, too.
thanks, enjoyed that. didnt know the recommended procedure was to stir up the egg and grounds before hot water becomes involved! makes a velvety texture i assume because it winds up having boiled egg in it (its like egg-drop soup with coffee in it 😄)
I have been debating trying this for years. I might get a cup this year at the state fair just to try it out. Velvety is a great description
