Supports downloading a server transcoded file? That's amazing!

Would like to see an Fdroid version
- You can just use Obtainium with the gh releases link
  
  I too would rather have an F-droid version instead of having to use Obtainium. There is additional inherent trust by going through F-droid's process.
- FYI Jellyflix also supports that

- From what I understand its still restrained by the server in real time so downloading a 2 hour movie would still take two hours 🥲
  
  Is this a bug, or is it actually just limited to the transcode speed? I would love to read the incident/bug report about this.
Love another iOS option.

- Nah, the icon looks like some ai-generated garbage, too much detail for such a small size.

I've been trying fin Droid which works well but it's definitely a work in progress.
Fantastic to have more selection! I love Findroid but its good to have alternatives!

Edit: downloaded it from Github but cannot connect to my server with same credentials I use in the official app, hm.

So I will test it again tonight when I have time.
- If you test it, can you let me know how it compares to Findroid?
  
  Once it works, sure. Will need to wait for a fix first.
  
  OK, it works now so I had a look.
  
  At this stage no match for Findroid, but I like the layout of it.
  
  When you play a file it somehow starts playing minimised and you need to tap it it goes full screen.
  
  No automatic rotation, so you need to do it manually.
  
  Haven't tried the downloading yet and I have no Chromecast to test casting with.
  
  In a couple of updates it might be decent enough already for general use.
- Yayyy unsecured connections for logins.
  
  My server isn't exposed to the outside. I am connecting through local WiFi. If someone manages to get in there I probably have bigger problems than access to my Jellyfin.

  Possibly. There is an apk on the GitHub that you can sideload for now.
AppleTV client at some point?
- Is there currently any? This is the only reason I’d consider moving from plex.
  
  There’s SwiftFin, but it’s been a while from the last update (iOS app was updated recently though) and there’s a number of issues. It’s usable though (I’m using it).
  
  There’s the official Jellyfin app for Apple TV. It works very well with only minor UI bugs when browsing libraries. Nothing that detracts from or reduces the quality of the service.
  
  I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for but I use Infuse on the ATV for the times the Plex client can't play a file, usually because it's DV format.
- I have an Apple TV and downloaded the official Jellyfin client for it. Works very well, just minor UI bugs when browsing through the library. Nothing that detracts from the experience or affect the quality of the service.
Support for downloading and Chromecast? Sign me up.
- The jellyfin app has both already... not sure what you're on about?
  
  Last time I checked, on iOS it didn't have either.
  
  Edit: just checked, the iOS version still doesn't have downloads and does not support casting to Chromecast.

Joined the TestFlight!
The app works well enough but was unable to watch anything I downloaded offline on iOS. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix? I downloaded from the App Store, not Test Flight.
- He actually patched it already. WOW!!! So happy to have offline transcoded files back after leaving Plex!
