I thought Assassins Creed Syndicate was really mid personally, it was the last AC game I played and never finished it, after finishing every one until then.
The first boss? Rocket boost to get close then sword slash rinse and repeat with a little bit of dodging. I swear they also made it easier from its release incarnation which was pretty tough
Did they fix the balance issues? Around launch it seemed like there were quite a few options that were just worse with no benefits (talking about pve only here, I do not recognize pvp as a legitimate game mode).
Coming back from launch a lot of stuff including the base gear you start with feels much more powerful. Overall the game feels a fair bit easier and I do a lot more damage. Maybe I was just really bad at release but i seem to be breezing through the game with whatever hodge podge mech i throw together. Before it kinda felt like gatlings and shotguns outclassed everything.
It does have flaws, it plays like an action game masquerading as mech game. Yes, when I play a mech game I want tank controls to be the only control scheme. I wanted the mech game roots with AC6 god damnit, I don't want to have to keep relying on PGI to keep making mechwarrior titles because that seems to be the only place I can get the mech game feel (beyond playing the older mechwarrior and armored core titles again which I've done so again and again.)
Don't get me wrong here, as an action game it's simply okay nothing ground breaking. But if judged as a mech game, AC6 is pretty far down in the dredges of awfulness.
