The Broad Appeal of the Elsa Dress (NYTimes gift link for a couple of weeks)
Wearing a costume from “Frozen” in daily life has become a pastime for many children who identify with the character, regardless of gender.
AMAB kids love wearing the Elsa dress too!
(Crass commercialism, and blonde haired blue eyed white lead character issues aside)
Hopefully this indicates that diverse gender expression becoming even more socially acceptable as the Frozen generation matures into adulthood.
Although I do have to add that the NYTimes has umm, a weird obsession with Frozen, moreso than other mainstream news orgs that I read.
There's a collection of related articles at the bottom of the article page with titles like:
"My Son Loves Elsa From ‘Frozen.’ I Had to Learn to Love Her, Too"
"The Kids Who Love ‘Frozen’ and the Parents Who Love Them"
"Achieving Transcendence on the Millionth ‘Frozen’ Viewing"
