I'm getting a little tired of Hexbear shitting on the Burning Man situation.
Pyramid Lake is now a fully autonomous collective in Nevada. Hexbear users are sitting in their nice, air-conditioned, bedrooms while actual workers are out there building community support during a disaster. They are pooling resources, rationing, and helping one another survive. I thought the point was to have support, albeit critical, for AES, but I guess not. Burning Man is closer to Marx's ideal socialist state than China ever will be.
Can we just defederate from them already? What is the point in continuing to exist with people who actively spew hatred and misinformation about our comrades in Nevada?
So me saying that laughing at people misfortune (albeit heavily exaggerated by media ) is bad is comparable to whatever the horrible things hotwheels did ?
And while i don't condone his other views and based on a personal experience, when you are handicaped (mine isn't that bad all things considered and yet i felt it) you sometimes feel like it would be better if you didn't exist and that people shouldn't have to suffer like you do. It's something that cross your mind and you can't fight it.
A bit ironic that a normal bodied person would call the feeling of handicaped persons that stems from their own personal life, experience and feelings as ableist.
You can't hide from the truth that as much as therr is good in the world it is a horrible place for the weak.
From the Cambridge dictionary :
ableist
adjective disapproving
coming from or having the belief that disabled people (= people who have an illness, injury, or condition that makes it difficult for them to do things that most other people can do) are not as good as people who are not disabled, or that they do not deserve special arrangements that help them to live their lives and be included in society.
That comparison is pretty fucked up to make and Ulysses is just being dunk-brained rn, and you're getting dogpiled harder than you deserve imo, so sorry about that.
We recently had a discussion on here about using terms as insults when they're also psychological conditions and decided we should stop (but like two weeks ago people probably wouldn't have made nearly as big a deal of it lol).
