Got woken up by the junkies having a door slamming and screaming competition.
I'm so over this shit. 2k a month to deal with this is an absolute joke.
8 0 ReplyRemind me? Was it you that was moving back closer to the city? (Eek, yeah it’s wild paying mortgage prices for rent.)
5 0 ReplyI was looking at that rent and trying to reply to ask how they'd got something so cheap 😢
Over $5k a month in rent here.
Edit: my reply was going to be something along the lines of "makes friends with the neighbours and have a fun time, and enjoy those prices!"
6 0 ReplyWhat are you renting? (If you don’t mind me askin?)
I mean I don’t have a family to support so I don’t need anything big (but my toys/hobbies would beg to differ).
4 0 Reply4 bed 2 bath detached with a decent yard in a really nice area. Just me and my partner.
All the rooms have uses, e.g. we must have an office which doubles as a PC gaming room, and we too needed a hobby room, then another.
3 0 ReplyOh, reminds me of my old place! Had a very similar set up. Downsizing is super tough.
Without revealing too much, are you in a higher SE area? It still sounds like a lot?
3 0 ReplyYup, downsizing has been discussed and I keep taking it off the table and instead offering up sizing hehe.
Nah, not in that area. We're on the fun, music & food side. Northcote.
The price is reasonable for this area but I was baffled by the $2k price as I used to pay that for a room in a share house 10 years ago haha
2 0 ReplyOh, haha, I see. (I meant higher socio-ec, but it has definitely gotten expensive.)
Were they big sharehouses? I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than $1500 give/take utilities?
2 0 ReplyTypically they were huge houses with dual kitchens and had a decent home gym etc, my last room in a share house had a walk in robe, private bathroom and a private balcony for example. So again, I knew it was on the more pricey side but still..
Also noticed you'd removed my suburb location in your reply after I deleted my comments which was a nice touch that didn't go unnoticed, so thank you. I've mentioned where I live loadsa times but typically delete it after a few hours, it's probs in my comment history on here when talking about local food haha.
2 0 ReplyOh hey, yeah that makes complete sense re: rent cost. (Sounds very nice for a share house!)
Oh, no worries at all. I totally get it. (It’s so easy sometimes to think DDT is in its own bubble, but that’s unfortunately not the case.)

Yep that's me. I was planning on staying here till I bought a place around May. But the isolation and shitty neighbours have got me running for the hills.
