Esteemed economist Tyler Cowen engages today's most underrated thinkers in wide-ranging explorations of their work, the world, and everything in between. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
First thing I need to do is say how much I love the interviews that Tyler Cowen does. The topics range widely, and yet the questions are always remarkably well-informed, unique, and interesting. Honestly the greatest interviewer I know of. Give it a listen.
Secondly I'm curious if anyone else has an interviewer (who does podcasts?) that they would recommend.

- FOSS podcast recommendations?
Got a general interest in self hosted/open source software. Would love a podcast that talks about some of the trending applications out there.
- Anyone else listening to Hard Fork from NYT?
Lots of AI news, which suits me.
While UnderUnderstood feels more like the spiritual successor to Gimlet's Reply All, the co-hosts of Hard Fork (Kevin Roose and Casey Newton) banter in a way that reminds me of P. J. Vogt and Alex Goldman.
- Srsly Wrong
A "utopian leftist comedy podcast." I've been listening to them for about a year, and they may be my favorite podcast. I love the ideas they explore and their sense of humor
- Recommend me a podcast similar to The Downtime Project

> Good evening all, > > I recently finished listening to a great podcast called The Downtime Project which discusses post-mortems from large companies. The hosts analyze the root causes of the outage, what the company did well, and what the company could have done better. > > I found this format fascinating and learned how to approach complex systems and identify some shortcomings in my own systems that I manage. > > Unfortunately, it looks like there's only one season currently and I'd like to see if there's anything similar that anyone else is listening to. > > Formats similar to this would be awesome, but anything tech-related would peak my interest!
- New Moderator post
Hello, I am exploring Lemmy due to Reddit's changes, and I wanted to become more involved with Solarpunk. I volunteered to help moderate this community which will hopefully make me lurk less and contribute more. Hope everyone is doing well!
- The Poor Prole’s Almanac - a podcast about gardening and permaculture
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a year or two now, I enjoy it! The podcast covers a wide variety of topics from planting and gardening, to JADAM and alternative compost methods, to skillshares.
For anyone who wants to learn more about permaculture or just wants to fill out their podcast catalogue, give this one a look!

- Welcome everyone!
To whoever finds this new community, welcome!
I thought I would start this community off by sharing my favourite app and podcasts and would invite you to do the same.
I've been an Android user for many, many years now so I've been through every podcast app there is. The one I always come back to though, is Podcast Addict. The dev is really responsive, hard-working and listens to the community. The app itself has just an insane amount of features and anything you can think of is generally possible. I also like Podcast Republic and PocketCasts but they might be better suited to people who don't want to tinker as much and get everything little thing working as they like.
I go through new podcasts constantly so my favourites do change a lot, however, at the moment these are my favourites.
- Last Podcast On The Left - They're a comedy true-crime/ paranormal/ weird stuff/ gory history podcast. They've been around a long time now and I always go back to them.
- Chilluminati - This one is very similar to LPOTL but they do a lot of new conspiracies (the fun kind not the poisonous kind) and internet mysteries which I enjoy. They also have a slightly different dynamic in that two of the guys are believers and one is a sceptic.
- Swinded - Swindled is a true crime podcast but it handles exclusively blue-collar crime, so shady business dealings, human rights violations, scams etc. It's really informative and really well written.
- All Systems Goku - I'm not a huge anime fan but I love Dragon Ball. This series has been finished a while now but it's worth going back to every now and then. It's two comedians watching DBZ for the first time.
- Retronauts - Admittedly, I haven't listened to this one in a while but it's a great retro gaming podcast with great hosts and guests.
- You're Wrong About - A really fun and informative podcast about subjects and topics the public usually has a take on that might not be the entire truth.
Anyway! Welcome to the community and I can't wait to read everyone's replies!
