You will hate this too
I’m thankful there are a lot of community events in the smallish towns in my area that help stave off the winter stir craziness. I think I’ve only seen the sun 4 times in the last 3 months but those few days were glorious. I can still get some hiking done on days where it’s not miserably windy. The thing that kills me the most are how short the days are.
It will always be Denali
That’s terrible news. I spent a year in Arizona and it’s heartbreaking seeing what mining has done to some of that landscape.
I wish people could realize that sometimes you just can’t have the minerals due to the environmental cost. I have zero faith that Northern Dynasty won’t cause massive environmental impact over the long term.
It is somewhat reassuring that I can’t find any more details speculating on Pebble’s approval online outside of the source you provided that I’m subscription blocked from reading.
I hear you but even then it’s not straightforward. My personal experience of trying to get signed up to Lemmy was pretty bad and I know my way around a computer. This could very well be an issue with the Arctic client but apps are how a lot if not most are going to interact with the platform so the ecosystem needs work.
Permanently flaccid
Most of my friends aren’t technically inclined. Until the onboarding process is greatly simplified I can’t really recommend it.
Ok, so you don’t have anything actually valuable to offer in a discussion and seem to lack critical thinking skills. If you want to worship or do hand waving for the ultra wealthy, that’s your prerogative but don’t piss on me and tell me it’s raining. Moving on
I’m open to having my mind changed if you can provide evidence of billionaires that accumulated their massive wealth by using non-exploitative practices
Billionaires don’t help people. They find ways to capitalize on people
Sucks for this guy. I’m close to his age, I drank and smoked heavily for years and I look about the age he does
Thanks for the information, so about 10% of the state population. I have been looking at ways to get more involved locally but in reality this means looking at non-local groups in Anchorage.
That said, seeing that there are potentially 76k like minded individuals does make me feel a bit better.
I was thinking about this earlier and I’m scared about what this might mean for the future of the Pebble Mine, which we were previously successful in blocking. Bristol Bay has the greatest salmon run on our planet, and it supports a massive ecosystem, humans included, as well as a huge portion of our fishing economy in Alaska. Being a Democrat in Alaska is a very isolating feeling.
Awww, is the world’s greediest man not making enough money?
Now is not the time to bury your head in the sand
Don’t be lazy
I absolutely will blame voters you simpleton
I like the bump. With the glass back you can’t really feel the difference between the front and rear of the device and the camera bump help orient you in the dark.
Privilege is being able to afford a place big enough you can actually put your bed in the middle of the room
Adding police to a situation rarely makes it better
