  • I'm in my 40s and learned about this just a few years ago. Never affected my reading of different genres. I guess I didn't know any different! It did help me understand why I don't have the great memories of childhood things like my close-in-age sister does. I have always relied on her for details.

  • On Mbin, I believe this is something that is being looked at (so we would know), maybe lemmy.world also?

  • With that little low spot, it looks like a favorite cozy place!

  • I didn't cry, but was pretty sad when Mitch Hedberg passed. And earlier, when I learned my childhood fave Harry Chaplin had been gone for a few years.

  • This is one of mine. So glad I was able to see him perform! Very unexpected.

  • I was working as a Wilderness Ranger in north Georgia USA when he died, and there was a place folks were building a shrine to him.

  • refined, bleached flour is linked to heart disease

This is what is leading me to find healthier options. Lower salt, too!

  • I agree, maybe I should do a follow up post! I live in the US so the four or so options I ended up saving may be less than cost effective elsewhere. I even found purple noodles made with buckwheat and sweet potatoes šŸ’œ

  • Wow! Detective @ilinamorato@lemmy.world exposed more than I ever would šŸ™‚ļø The fact that these use to be legitimate sites is pretty sad. It opens up an entire series of things to think about...

Thanks for all of that info!

  • Is it normal to have to RSVP for these? There is one only an hour from me, but they want a lot of personal info! They share the address, I could just show up, too.

  • I always wondered how fry sauce was created.

  • I live in an area that has gold mining and brothels. After reading this, I now wonder if trafficking is an issue in my place. Not a lot of opportunity for locals, but there are young folks 😐

  • This is kind of funny to me, but also close because this (not exactly) was a fear of mine about these when I was younger

  • After reading the newer comments I don't know what to think. Maybe this changes based upon the country one finds one self in?

  • When is this from? When I was the age of the two kids shown, both of my parents were over 40 and I (nor my peers) wouldn't have thought these things. Now I am over 40 and I still don't think these things. I have a niece from a younger sibling who is this age, and she might think these things, but she is also allowed unfiltered access to youtube except when I am around.

  • Fascists have argued that the enemy is both strong and weak, for a long time. The enemy changes over time perhaps, but it doesn't seem that the far right does.

  • Well this could make for a great "your mama" joke.
