I downloaded rednote and tried to upload a video today and couldn't get it to work. The first couple of tries the video was choppy and out of sync with the sound and then I couldn't pick a cover, etc. I'm hoping they are just being crushed by increased traffic because I'd really like a proper global platform
Edit: so I was able to post a video and it seems fine. I think the editor is buggy because the video was definitely fucked when I hit post, but it uploaded without the choppiness
Firefighters in areas with regular forest fires don't have "surplus" equipment
They definitely do? Surplus is more than just extra shit sitting in storage until you need it. You gotta maintain that equipment, which requires people, time, and money. If the equipment isn't maintained it would be just as useless as not having it at all. Obviously there is a line somewhere when it becomes too costly to maintain surplus equipment and it's better to get rid of it.
I'm not saying LAFD is run well or defending any of this shit, but to call people morons (kinda ableist btw) over this is silly and you're wrong anyway
I get paid to do this what do you mean?
Can you imagine parents of an autistic child spending $800 to help them?
Kids? That's the marines specialty
Also autistic, so don't trust me too much on this, but maybe try something like a group chat with them first? Then you can either patiently wait for one of the friends to invite you to something or drop hints or straight up ask if anyone wants to hang out. If you wanna get wild, do it when your best friend is busy with something else.
Idk, I'm not good at having friends so I feel like my advice is probably bad here if you want to maintain your relationship with your best friend, but if the other people want to be your friend and you want to be their friend, your best friend should help that happen, not prevent it
Edit: hell, even if they don't want to be your friend he should help you anyway. Honestly I'm getting kinda mad at your friend rn
Idk if these technically count as survival, but Satisfactory and No Man's Sky are both great. Ark has probably changed a lot since I played it, but I loved it once I found a good server
Future Democratic President Liz Cheney with Vice President...uh, one of W's kids?
Any time I see politicians in a row I think about those rad 2 for 1 shots you can do in video games
I wanted to say Tim Cain but I know that's wrong, but like...it's not really wrong
Clearly racism and misogyny plays some role in it, but Harris/SomeGuyIForgot was short something like 6 million votes of Biden/Harris. This liberal talking point is one of the most frustrating because it is also exactly what trump says when shit is obviously not perfect.
Even 2012 Obama only lost ~4M votes compared to 2008 Obama. Dems are becoming more and more disillusioned as time goes on, which should be a good thing except in the Burgereich it means they get more fascist because one time a communist corrected them on twitter about some historical fact
Williams believes extremists will try to murder him after this story is published. And if they fail, he thinks he’ll “live to see the United States cease to exist.” He identifies with the violent abolitionist John Brown, who tried to start a slave revolt two years before the American Civil War and was executed. Williams thinks he himself may not be seen as such a radical soon, he told me. “I wonder if I’m maybe a little too early.”
I'm pretty comfortable with reading/listening to analysis from people who think I should die, but I would never go to them to actually learn? I think of it more as an exercise of my own ideology when I try to understand someone with whom I clearly disagree.
I would never actually praise any of these people, they exist solely to absorb my derision and help me solidify my beliefs in the face of constant pressure to conform. Anyone who reads theory and is into terf shit is probably just fash with bad reading comprehension.
I just heard of this, so IDK what I'm talking about, but wouldn't borealism include indigenous groups in these arctic regions that were colonized? Like maybe modern borealism is all about white people, but those white people did in fact subjugate those regions and do genocides. And there's definitely a kind of paradoxical view of people in arctic regions similar to the "noble savage" view of indigenous groups in North America.
The first two things they should already be doing all the time. It would actually be funny if there was a way to make the inauguration crowd small af, but funny is all it would be. The kazoo bit makes my whole body hurt just reading it
I only wear v-necks because I hate regular collars. I have 10+ of the same shirt in a few different colors and I cried when I couldn't find the kind I liked a long time ago (I've since found another brand that is tolerable and I also switched to long sleeve v-necks)
Anyway, it was fun realizing I was autistic and not just secretly a cartoon character who was transported into the real world
Oh it's definitely suspicious how many connections there are and the timing. I just think people don't know that literally every single person who trains for special forces goes through there. It would be like if the news ran a story about two FBI agents and said they were both at Quantico as if they don't all go there.
Yeah, it's close to I-95 that runs from South Florida all the way up the east coast. I haven't been there in decades now, but I remember several big drug busts happening. Lots of troops getting caught doing coke, meth, etc.
The base they were both at was Fort Bragg, which is where a lot of the training for special forces happens. At least it did a long time ago, figure it's probably the same now. Basically they all spend a lot of time there and they also go to language school there, so it's really likely that any SF who was in the army at the same time was probably at Fort Bragg at the same time.
I've looked at a few lists here and there, but it seems like there just aren't many co-ops that recruit strangers online. Anyone have any experience working for a co-op as a dev? It seems like it would be an awesome way to structure a small web/app dev team. Part of me wants to try to start one myself, but it's hard to imagine maintaining the motivation needed for a task like that when I can barely function as it is.
Anyway, what's up with the lack of cooperatives? Sorry if this is the wrong comm, seemed like the best place
