  • That sounds amazing!

I’m very lucky - Grew up in the GTA, went to Uni in Halifax and lived on Vancouver Island for 8 years. I’ve taken the train across, but I’d really love to drive it and really enjoy all the bits in the middle. So I’ve seen lots and explored local areas where I’ve lived, I’m really just missing NFLD.

I live in the UK now (and oddly closer to my Uni than I was out west) so the plan would be to buy a car out west, and sell it out East.

  • It’s madness. Between her:

    A) “Well, we all think it’s a joke and you shouldn’t be bothered by it. Why don’t you think it’s funny? We can say he’s talking shit because it isn’t a threat to us, but also, what are you going to do to stop him?”

    b) “I just can’t believe you’re being attacked by such a good friend. My gosh. That’s awful. My jaw has dropped who could have stopped such a thing?!”

I don’t even know what to say

  • Buy Canadian @lemmy.ca

Write to your elected officials - Support Canadians!

  • I had the same thoughts the other day when I registered.

I’m decently tech savvy - run a Linux server at home with virtual machines and docker containers, self-host a website that’s written and updated through the terminal/command line. So not a genius but more inclined than many but I was at a pause when I opened up the site.

The pause was what does an instance mean, is it important later on and all sorts which I needed to figure out before trying to read the instances. Those are two massive barriers back to back when in reality none of it matters.

  • Others have covered it well with sharing lessons you’ve learned and tips. But I think you’re fast approaching the fun part - travel and enjoy local activities!

If funds allow you can visit new provinces, cities and towns. Or if you want to stay local a new family or Canadian owned restaurant, takeaway or bar. See Canadian bands or theatre productions!

My favourite part of supporting local has always been knowing how that money gets recycled. Guy behind the bar - pays for his kid’s club, the local grocer pays the baker and enjoys his local roasted coffee. It gets spent over and over.

You’ve done a lot and with that same spirit you can see the people you’re doing business with and reap the benefits of that.

  • Yes you can use two dongles one for each but personally I think it’d be confusing for ports and configures. I’d go for one of those ABS over SMlight, they’re great and have brilliant software. Bonus being they’re Ukrainian too.

Personally I have an smlight 06, sonoff p and a zbt. They’ve all been solid
